yeah man that i have seen that video.
those dvd turntables (pioneer dvj -x1) and the equivelent of the cd turntables i got. i was playing on them the other week and they are fantastic. one of those decks cost 2500!!! thats alot of money especially as you you need 2 and a video mixer and video monitors.
as much as i enjoyed this vid from a technical aspect. that geezer is a prick. and the music fuckin rancid.

I've got a 150K connection, does the job for me. The size of a download doesn't bother me because my PC is on all the time and it just carries on the background. I don't sit there watching it.
hey punk your on ntl aren't you?? you should be running 300k now. ntl did a spped increase at the begining of august. but being the great communication company they are they haven't told anyone.
run this speed test here
if your results come back at around 150 then turn the power off your cable modem for 10 seconds. then power back on and it should reboot with the speed increase. run the test again and you should hit 300K!! i have been runing at 750k since august and loving it!!

1st 128K took 3976 ms = 32966 Bytes/sec = approx 274 kbits/sec
2nd 128K took 4036 ms = 32476 Bytes/sec = approx 270 kbits/sec
3rd 128K took 8803 ms = 14889 Bytes/sec = approx 124 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 3835 ms = 34178 Bytes/sec = approx 284 kbits/sec
I already unplugged the modem yesterday because it was being twatish and not working (nothing new there). When i'm downloading with a download accelerator, it reads at around 30k/s. I was getting 25k/s around a month ago.

WoW! 8O
I'll never understand how to mix videos... Well, maybe someday I will.. But not now. F'King amazing!!!!!
In fact, I still can't understand how to mix live - coz even when I make digital mixes in Sound Forge, I still manage to 'train-wreck' certain tracks - it takes time for mix to sound decent.
Is it just a fadein/fadeout thing or it's more than that?
And how do those DVDs manage to get rid of the music, only leaving acapella? :o Is it a special technology??
the only difference with mixing video is that you need a separte video mixer as well as and audio mixer. that gotta be a little tricky, when i mixing my hands are busy enough let alone having another device to deal with. its time pioneer invented a third arm!!
these decks do not manpulate the audio in anyway, although you can do looping or jump to any cue point in an instance. if you can only hear acapella then he must be playing an acapella!
as for mixing just fading thing in and out, no way man. i like to hold a mix in for a couple of minutes but if your gonna do that you need to start playing with eq's. i use eq's for the low fequencies the most. its nice to use so you don't have 2 bass lines fighting each other. i not supprised you cant mix in sound forge i tried it once and the results were horrid. you can do it a bit easier in sony acid, the beat matching tool if you match it correctly is wicked. also you can animate the eq's or even a filter. trying playing with them in the mix, i takes things another step on. i here the ableton live 4 is awesome as a dj tool as well.
