Great actor. I remember when I was younger, I was able to sneak off and watch Boogie Nights to see all the nudity and softcore porn. Roller Girl gave me some great imagery during my adolescence. Every thing from that movie was totally over my head at that time, but Phillip Seymour Hoffman's character perplexed me like no other.

They made a joke out of this in the Gervais/Merchant TV series "Extras" which was based on the true experiences of people getting Sam Jackson/Fishburne mixed up. "You were great in The Matrix". Doesn't bode well for identity parades does it....

Yeah it's entertaining and original. More 'quietly amusing' than 'laugh out loud' funny.
Not quite a 5 star film - at times I had moments of ennui, but 4 stars I think.
Ralph Fiennes really carried the film. Nice cast overall - it took me a a couple of minutes to recognise Harvey Keitel.
Did anyone spot George Clooney
Spoiler

Its been quite some time where Ive generally felt the need to go to the cinema and pay respects by watching the movies there but recently a handful have made me go back recently which were Grand Budapest Hotel, Nymphomaniac (don't judge me ha) it was interesting what the Lars Von Trier was trying to say with it (if you can handle the unapologetic adult nature of the movie. But one Im dying to see thats not released here yet it is Under The Skin. Have any of you guys north of the globe seen it? The score sounds incredible too. (A write up on that at pitchfork about the influence it played etc.)

My link

Come out from the cold and into the setting sun. It's where it all began for me (not in Afrika), like it was out of control. Then after that life was sweet. So dream on into the pioneer skies of the fourteenth century and rise from the sunshine underground.

I wanted to see that too, but it came and went in London cinemas before I had the chance. On Rotten Tomatoes it has an 85% critics rating but only a 62% rating from the public. 6.2 out of ten isn't really that great. Whenever I do get round to seeing it I'll be interested to see which 'side' I agree with. Re: the music, it seems James Lavelle of UNKLE agrees with you, as he is overseeing a special one-off screening at London's Royal Festival Hall in June with a live performance of the soundtrack by Mica Levi (Micachu and the Shapes). That's as part of the Meltdown Festival - basically a series of events 'curated' by Lavelle during June.

Awesome. I was reading about that James Lavelle curated festival a little while ago and forgot about it, now its gotten better. the marketing for the movie is great theres personals on craigslist with her number kind of encrypted and if you dial it she says 'come to me' and you get a text message or something.

Watched part 2 the other day. I still have no idea why i have to see so much cock and why Charlotte Gainsbourg has nipples the size of carrots. But the young Joe (Stacy Martin) again looks nice

His movies are pretty F'ed up but you can't help but get sucked in sometimes. His movies can either be hit or miss with me and usually I don't have the desire to watch it again. Not cause I don't necessarily like it just the nature of it I suppose.

Are you suggesting she has a choice?
