Yes, that seems to be what is the case.

It's cool--there was already someone else that missed my post and posted the same thing, so I thought I'd clarify extra-stringently that it had already been said before

This track is incredible. I know we just met and I'm trying to be cool and all, but honestly, I think I'm in love with it.
I would definitely place it in the "epic" category of Chem Bros tracks. It may not have the same slow build up as the Reel or Sunshine Underground, but it sure has the power to take me to another place. I am excited to rock it on my headphones, and then again in an altered state. If anyone is able to hook me up, it will be for my own private stash of ear candy until I can buy it. I'm satur8 at gmail.com .
I can't wait for Further. Has it been announced if a CD version will be available for purchase?
edit: On second thought, if visuals will be available, it's probably safe to assume there will be a CD package....

I know what you mean! I have been feeling this way for nearly a year ever since I first heard it at Coachella. Hearing it again seals the deal for me, hahaha!

I'm going to have to agree on the epic comment and category.
To add, I don't feel Escape Velocity was made to replace the Reel, (or whatever other songs people have said are epic classics here). I love The Reel and have made that clear during my time here. It's golden and invokes certain feelings in me that other Chems songs haven't been able to touch no matter how much I love, respect and and rant and rave about how great they are. Escape Velocity brings me back to those feelings I have only had with the Reel... and... that's all I'm going to say about those feelings right now.
Anyhow, I don't see why Escape Velocity - or any new(er) Chems song - can't be in the same room with other epic Chems tracks that are revered as epic classics thanks to time and fond memories and feelings. I don't share the same epic sentiment some people have about Surface To Air being up there with The Reel, but I think it's a dumb thing to argue because how I feel only means something to me at the end of the day, and how I feel isn't going to change minds. It's just opinions and assholes which we've all got... So stepping back a bit, is it even fair to pit Escape Velocity against the tried and true Chems epic classics that have been out for the better half of (or more than) a decade?

I share your opinion concerning Surface to Air. In some ways, I wish they gave that song about another 3-4 minutes, considering that the main song doesn't even start until about a minute in! IMO, Believe is the true epic track from PTB. And, IMO, Hold Tight London holds possibly the most emotional investment of any of their songs because, not only the lyrics, but the meaning they held in the context of my life during when PTB first came out was substanial. So, those two songs seamlessly blended are, to me, epic, along with TPPR.
I'm going to stop writing 'IMO' now, because Whirly put it quite nicely that all these statements are very personal. Some people might not even think that TPPR is epic--though I might argue against them because there is a certain level of objectivity concerning commonly held opinions that, inductively, say something more than opinion, such as the case where most fans of the Chemical Brothers believe TPPR is epic, just as, with a certain level of objectivity, I can say the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel is a masterpiece.
So, anyways, I think that EV is very epic, and I can't wait until I can both hear it at it's highest quality, and in the context of the album!

I've been listening to this a lot lately. As in, I hadn't listened to it for a few years, and then I started humming it one day a couple weeks ago. So I put on my headphones, let the music play, and, wow, it's sexy. It has such a nice sonic quality to it—very evocative!
I keep putting it on again now.
