I'd like to have Reason and/or Cubase to see how it works, but i did not take the time to download them...

Anyway i know FruityLoops very well and i'm very used to it.

I'd like to have some hardware but as i already said, no money :(

hardware is cool, but it has its downsides - for example the hundreds of pounds u have to spend on leads!! :x i only have a relatively small hardware set up, and it can be a right pain in the ass - sometimes i wish i was all in one software compact. chris duckenfield (swag) latest ep was recorded/made entirely on his laptop, and it fookin rocks, though to be fair i bet he made it then mixed the track through some lush compressors/fx/desk

what i love aboiut reason is its versatility - it has synthesizers, samplers, mixing desk, fx, drum machines etc etc all wired together like a hardware studio - if u can get your head around the wiring of the studio set up in reason your totally set for getting a hardware setup together. it rocks :D

have decided on the efx 500 after checking sneakers video - looks amazing, and exactly whats required - AND its got a midi out for a midi clock so we wil be able to use it to sync ableton to it 8)

currently getting a rock on for the oberheim expander:

the most routable synth known to man, with a tone to die for - - -drool X-D

Oh yeah, i also have a pretty huge bass amp, that i use mainly for playing dnb really loud, cuz i never practice plugged in. Im thinking about getting a cheap mixer, possibly for christmas or something (BROKE! :( ). As far as software goes, i have reason 3.0, sonar 4, ableton 4, fruityloops 5, acid pro 5, traktor 2, absynth 2 and 3, and about a billion vstis. (What! Piracy! Me! Of course not!)

Err, along the lines of my last post, would any of you people with massive knowledge of hardware be able to recommend any entry-level dual-cd mixer (prefrably not rackmount) in the $200-300(US) range?

This is what I've got mate, does the job! No external outs for the CDs, so no effects available, but it's 2 CD decks (with 10% pitchshift), a mixer, an amp & speakers for less than 200!

I haven't used one, but ahhh I'd love a Microkorg. They must be pretty cheap these days too? Love the Korg sound!

So far I've only got a Korg EA-1 for hardware and I just got Reason 3.0 and Computer Musys (a free soft-studio) for software. Haven't had much time to play with them, though.

At the music store I was playing around with an Access Virus KB and absolutely fell in love. Unfortunately, $3750 is a bit steep...... 8O

More realistically, another store around here has a Roland JD-800 for $675 that I took a look and was interested in. Over 110 sliders and knobs for real-time tweaking! Not to mention there is a program that custom-maps Reason 3.0 controls to the JD-800!

I forgot about the Virus synths! They are fantastic. I was after an Indigo for years, but they were just too damn expensive. Been replaced by the TI's anyway.

I'll put the Virus TI Polar on the wishlist instead:

http://www.access-music.de/audiodemos/ has the audio demo's of the new Virus TI synths. The Brightside/Darkside collections are what you want to check out. Heavenly!

Check this out. From the creators of the 777 comes the Revolution. This is either a really clever design, or really stupid.

Weird design, but doesn't sound too bad at all for US$699!!! I'd seriously consider getting one right now if I had the spare cash.

Sounds really interesting from the quick read at Future Retro's site. Wish I had the coin. Mind you, it doesn't have any LFO's, nor a full ADSR envelope controller (just a Env Amount and Env Decay, like my Electribe EA-1). Only two waveforms.

So, it would be someone limited in its use, but would be a mean acid machine.

I wanted one anyway, before Sneaker posted that. Now it would definetly be cooler than cool (ice cold!!!).

Then I can imitate Tom when he goes nuts at the end of The Reel. Love it.

Talking about 303's Propellerheads software are now giving rebirth away for free as they have stopped development of it. You can download it at this site http://www.rebirthmuseum.com/ i do believe it is about 500meg download so broadband would be nice.
