so well excited, in all the years no one seems to have ever noticed these etchings......

yes right about seinfeld...ed isn't at home kind of refers to me never being at home...the summer of ed..ha!!

lined him and use the little man are references to wii tennis which we played a lot of when we made we are the night

mick rimmington was a raver with dreadlocks who used to come and see us dj all the time in manchester back in the very early days...we were just wondering where he was now

make a boggy face...

boggy is one of james holroyds names...he has a particular face when he hears something spectacular in a tune, particularly a bass sweep or a good drop...if we're in the studio and we think something might elicit this response we think of boggy and his face

Wow thanks Ed!

We have to be on the look out for Boggy then next time we see him DJ.

I have to check all my records when you started this "secret messaging" but I think it originates in the 'Surrender era"

I'm kind off suprised to that nobody ever noticed the etchings...!! As for myself well i dont have any records so i had no clue about all this.

Oh and hi Ed! Thnx for those fun bits of Chemical Trivia =)

Wii tennis tho....whats up with all those fancy computer games nowadays....!! Tetris is where it's at!! And who rememberd the " Atari" ... And lets not forget the Amiga! That was one hell of a computer with some wicked games like PP Hammer. Oh - and Rollercoaster Tycoon.

Sorry, hijacking the topic here.

Yeah back to the etchings!

HAHA, you guys were making a Wii sports reference, that's great. I was playing that a lot too this last winter as well, sadly my roommate is gone for the summer with his Wii :(.

I checked the Singles Vinyl (US Edition) and no etchings on it... This is a really cool topic and I'm glad it came to surface many years later so that we could look back on boggy faces and summer of Ed

This topic just becomes better and more interesting each time I give it a read. I almost feel like this is deep enough to make a TV series out of this single topic :D

Exit Planet Dust

A- To all true freestyle DJ's who play freestyle and freestyle alone!

B- Hey blue singer

C- Not being bad or nothing, but ...

D- Huw is innocent!

Dig Your Own Hole

A- You be the linesman and I'll be the reeferee

B- Slow butt grind

C- Time for a tie straightener

D- Hello mate

Surrender

A- You'll take Monday as holiday

B- Can non-genius use this as well?

C- Turn your melodrama into a mellow drama

D- Well, how about that then

i love the fact that 5 albums later hew is still innocent!!

and slow butt grind, we know that this is the name for the tempo breakdown part of elektrobank. but it sounds like some kind r'n'b dance or some kinda skateboard trick!

Thanks. I know it's silly but I just had to put it out there. My brother-in-law made it a couple of months ago at my request, it was a messy night and we were all quite inebriated, phucked up photshop phun- haha.

He also made this gem:

Thx Ed! Help us with the rest!

What do Hit Factory and Tippy Trutone have to do with you guys? He's pretty much over loads of your vinyls.

Thx Sneaks for filling the gaps - I've noticed the etchings since I got my first Come with us and EBW 7 LPs and have mentioned them many times earlier also. Let's get crackin with all that fun!

My fav is still Serenity Now, Seinfeld or no Seinfeld connection - that is just apt for that album.

Shocked there's no Simpsons reference on any of them.. please tell me you'll quote Martin on the next vinyl:

"Put a pinch of sage in your boot and freshness will be your reward all day"

Maybe it was for good ol' times sake. Or maybe those two albums are linked together somehow, other than they are both the only Grammy winning albums they have... eh eh?
