The Rub is a Brooklyn band. They're playing the Brooklyn show as well. They're playing a 2 hour opener?? Christ... After about one hour of Adam Freeland opening, I wanted to throw him offstage with my bare hands. "Bring on the Prodigy, god dammit!"

Interesting, I'm gonna do some research on these guys... Well I'm planning to be up front for the Chems so I want to be there early... Looks like I'm gonna have to bring my hydration backpack to the brooklyn show! LOL

I heard that the floor sucks at the hammerstein and that the 1st mezz is where it is at

any thoughts on that? I do remember being there years ago and the floor was PACKED

The floor doesn't suck per se. It all depends on the style of music. I saw the Chems there 4 times on the floor and it is essential. I also saw the Beasties new rock jam show there from the Mezz and it was perfect.

If you want to get down, you need to be on the floor.

yeah that is what I was thinking. trey adn phish type of hippie shows are probably better in the mezz. I was pretty unhappy on the floor then but I want to get down and want to feel the fucking bass shake the floor

Always always always take the floor at bang'n shows. You won't regret it. Get as close as humanly possible. You'll lose all your hearing, feeling in your legs, voice, etc, but it is so worth it.

I was up against the rails for the 2 dj sets I've seen of the Chems, and I've seen their live sets at festivals, so it's general admission all the way. Seen them from far back, by the mixing desk and the closest I got last time around was about 5 people deep from the stage. It rocked each and every time, a true blessing to have had those chances. I absolutely loved being so close up to the front of the stage because even though the music can be heard from the earth's core and the eye blistering visuals can be seen from outer space - there's just something about being able to see what's going down on stage: the faces, smiles, gestures movements and crowd communication you miss when you're viewing a show from far back in a crowd. It brings an intimacy to the show, even if it's huge crowd of thousands. Plus, being in the mix of people can be exhilirating, the vibe can be infectious, you become part of something that's larger than life. For this old broad, being in the mix makes me feel young again...

Wise words whirly. You summed up my thoughts. Especially if its a concert where people are playing guitar (etc.), I like to see whats going on. I'm fascinated by my favorite bands playing techniques, so getting the chance to see it up close in person is just amazing.

yeah I am a big proponent of crowd band interaction as I am a HUGE phishead. Thanks for the advice guys. This is going to be soooo sick! I am so pumped already. ITs always been phish and the Chems for me.

Seen phish 95 times, seen chems ONCE 8 years ago in my hometown of Philly at the electricfactory. I want to see them so bad it hurts. 8 YEARS
