My computer is in our dining room area, and the dining area is pretty much on the side of my living room (it's what developers call an "open floor plan" which is a snazzy way of saying "if you live in an apartment, you don't get a seperate dining room, you get a dining 'area' ") Having the computer close by comes in handy if we're watching a flim... if we see an actor/actress we can't pin down, we can go to the computer and check imdb.com, or if we're watching the news and something interesting comes up we like to check what's being said in the online news sources - but we're geeks like that. ;) I
Most crap on television is just that. Crap. But I'm not above television, there are things I like to watch because I do like to be entertained. I generally stay away from most network television and stick to cable programming like Comedy Central among a handful of other things.
Mostly though, when it comes to the big idiot box in my living room, we watch movies - all the stuff we didn't see in the theaters. It looks and sounds better anyway.

About to watch Eyes Wide Shut....again.
Dunno why, but I love this movie, like I love most Kubrick films.
Anyone else actually dig this film as a psychological thriller? Or is it really just self-indulgent wankfest tripe and I just happen to want to bone Nicole Kidman?
