When the promo's start being distributed is when I will really start missing working at Tower.
Of course I have no problem paying money for the albums, it was just nice to have the promos before anyone else. :P I got a sweet Holland promo of Push The Button which was given to me by our old EMD rep about 3 weeks or so before he started dishing out the US promo's.
I will not pay an inflated price on ebay for a promo, however. If I happen to luck out with a promo which is highly unlikely, I'd rather have the money go to Amoeba records (but shhhhh - they legally aren't allowed to sell them any more than the next Joe is allowed to sell them on ebay). ;)

I paid like $40 for a promo of The Singles, just because I was really looking foward to the 2 tracks. It was cool cause I heard GYH long before the radio and like 2 months before the release. waste of money for all of the other tracks though.

Dito. I cannot see the point why i'm should buying promos at a such a high price if I could get the stuff some weeks/months later. The tracks will be as good or bad as these weeks/months before. Those high prices are justified if only they do contain rare stuff or unreleased content/b-sides to date.

Perhaps. Can't really say if i would. Must be a really reasonable price. But if, i would not listen to it till it's being released officially. ;-)

The most I paid for a Chems CD so far was 30 euros for In Glint.
The most I ever paid for a CD was 32 pounds for Orbital - Omen CD single.
