Yeah, and that will help you quite much if you set your car against the next tree while being on drugs. Sure.
Hey that's not even funny. I would never wish or even imply that I was wishing that on anyone.
hal - I can tell by your posts you are a cool person, I really hope you come back here and tell us about your time at Fabric.
sneakerbeater I agree with you. Drugs aren'ts for everyone, there really is a love/hate relationship society has with them - that's one of the reasons why I think they are so controversial. The issue with them isn't always as black and white as people make it seem. I readily admit that I've done more than my fair share of drugs, in casual social settings, and I was careful to know my body's boundaries and when enough was enough. My experiences have all been comfortable and positive but I've seen people spiral down a destructive path when they let the drugs (from speed to ecstasy to heroin) control their lives. I haven't tried everything and I have no desire to. Not everyone's the same and not everyone knows their limitations. I could go on.
Anyway - I think the dance scene that sneakerbeater is talking about created a whole new culture, and a part of that culture included ecstasy. The drug releases all those feel-good serotonins in your brain and allows the mind to strongly feel empathy, people were more at ease letting go and being a part of something which happened to be the music that brought everyone together in the first place. Physically, dancing on ecstasy is very enjoyable and I think part of that has to do with people letting their inhibitions go out the window. Even the simple act of taking a deep breath is a whole new experience. The drug also tweeks with your perception and your senses are amplified - you see lights move differently, you hear things in a whole new way and some people enjoy that altered sense of reality. Combine your sudden amplification of sensory perception with enhanced feelings of empathy in a social setting... it can be very inspiring to people especially musicians who were/are a part of that culture. I know a lot of people who opened up to dance music because of their experience with certain drugs, whereas before they wouldn't touch dance music with a 10 foot pole. At the end of the day I think it's the music people take home with them, not the drugs. I also think the dance music scene would have been different had it not been for ecstasy since the drug became a part of that culture. Much how pot and lsd became a part of the 60's rock culture. Think Woodstock.
Personally I don't care if a person wants to do drugs. Some people like to smoke 2 packs a day or drink until they throw up on themselves, others like to smoke pot and take a couple hits of ecstasy and call it a good night. I don't care as long as they aren't hurting me or putting me at risk. I also hope they take on the responsibility to act accordingly when it comes to their safety and the safety of others around them. (so don't drive under the influence, that's bad kids!) If they allow a person to better connect with and understand music, that's fine and dandy.

I don't wish it to him either, but he should discuss in a reasonable way and not try to offend people with such pointless non-arguments like one misspelled word.

Very clever people can produce their own drug with their brain!
The stupids need a pill or a ray!But sometimes, clever people are lazy!
So if you are clever enough to feel natural extasy or to produce your own adrenaline, save your money and your health! :D
Don't follow the sons of rich that know they will be rich enough to pay their psychotherapy in ten years! }:-)
Auto-hypnose is cool too! ;-)

I bet the only reason he shot back with the pointless misspelling argument was because people started jumping down his throat. He was on the defensive because everyone who ganged up on him made it personal.
There are no rules here that say people can't talk about drugs, even when it comes to seeing a Chems show. A couple months ago some of you were talking about porn. Some people (not me necessarily) would be more offended by that than by drug talk. Personally I don't see any of this as a big deal, why not talk about it without the conversation degenerating into personal slams?
And with that, I'm going to join anType in the corner and watch people argue! *wink*

Sure... ;)
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.
