sample list

I'm pretty sure there are samples in their songs that aren't listed, not all samples need to be credited or have to go through the clearing process.
I was listening to the song Dig Your Own Hole with this guy at work, and there's a few parts in the song that he said sound like samples from the game Street Fighter.
There's the vocal in It Doesn't Matter which is taken from a song by an older obscure band called Lothar and the Hand People, which I thought was kind of amusing and I recognized it because long ago I worked with someone who was a massive fan.
Best thing to do is read the sleeves and do your research online. I'm afriad that a full list of every single sample used may be close to impossible - though you could always Ask Tom + Ed, I wonder how many samples they used that they actually remember off the top of their heads?

Dig Your Own Hole samples, according to the sleeve:
Block Rockin Beats: Schooly D - "Gucci Again"
Eklectro Bank: Intro voice Kool Herc, vocal sample by Keith Murray
It Doesn't Matter: Lothar and the Hand People - "It Comes On Anyhow"
Get Up On It Like This: sample from "Money Runner" by John Schroder
And those are just the cleared samples...
I read a little diddy about Lothar and the Hand People, an interview or something a long time ago. Apparently they made more in royalties off It Doesn't Matter than they did during their career as a band.

Souphead, it's great to see you in here!
I read it in the liner notes, but that wasn't until much later when I started getting into the brothers. I think Lothar and the Hand People was mentioned in the Ask Tom + Ed feature when someone asked them if they liked psychadelic music. Or something along those lines. Maybe it wasn't Ask Tom and Ed... I don't know where I read it, but I read it somewhere!
Bring on the weekend!!!!

wait for CHEMICAL BITS. Coming out this fall - Sep 2003. You'll see A LOT more...
Like what? I think I have most of the others covered. I just don't have the Anti-Nazi mix or In GLint. (i do have downloaded versions, but not the promos). I have all the singles, and the different versions, different versions of the full lengths, the star shaped star guitar, and the out of control picture disc, etc... what else is out there that I might not know about ...please tell my broke ass what I need to save up for.

chemical beats samples the beatles 'revolution 9'. on the 12" you get the full 45 second intro with the 'take this brother' revolution 9 sample. thats why the intro was cut from exit planet dust. they didn't want to get sued!!! if you listen to chemical beats carefully you can actually hear this sample around 3.23. of course the official chemical brothers stance is that they have never knowingly sampled the beatles, yer right!!!!!
