The thing is ElectronicBattleWarrior I really can't be bothered to argue the semantics of Left Right with you, I haven't even heard the song!!
Point I was trying to make, hip hop was, is and will likely continue to be an influence in the Brothers' work.
Fair enough to say the rap (such as Public Enemy) being hip hop's closely related counterpart (like I needed to tell you, I'm just sayin) was, is and will likely continue to be an influence in the Brothers' work.
Sorry I didn't mention that in my initial post, jeesus..... but at least someone's reading! ;)
I was just wondering why this is a shock and disappointment to people. Is it perhaps the political tone of the song that's pissing people off more than it being a rap song?

i mean the music is good i dont like hip hop but the chems always make a perfect fusion of acid house and hi hop/rap or whatever you want to call it..

Rap is for me the worst music style. I prefer even the classical music like Strauss or Chopin (my uncle ;) ). Left Right could be great without this mad vocals, because on the musical side this track isn't that bad. Only this crap vocals... ;)
sad.....i fell for you. To bad you do not realize that rap is on the same level as poetry. Making music and rhytms with words that also impact on an emotional level. You must realize that not all rap is lowest common denominator with vocals about bitchz and money. A great deal of it has to do with very personal matters that many other people can actually relate to. If you can't relate to it, then you should at least be able to appreciate the level of intelligence and talent it takes to form the verbal structures that some of these modern day poets create.
If you aint ever heard Mos Def and the like on HBO's Def Poetry jam, then you are missing out. You can see how musical and poetic rap can be without any musica instruments at all.
Remember, music is just the arrangement of sounds and words are simply sounds expressed in way that impacts the listener on multiple levels...in an audial(<--is that a word? )....audial sense as well as an emotional one.

cant believe any chemical brothers fans actually dont like Galvanise !
its top drawer stuff from the boys once again ! has the chems sound and is going to sound so good live !
Left right is indeed growing , and although still may be the weakest tune on the album , its still good.
