I finally upgraded in the electronics department, got some new speakers for my computer - no, nothing spectacular, they're Altec Lansing but they sound really good (wanted the creatures, until I remembered that iguana blew them out within 2 weeks) And I got a new home theater system and new tv (the family was good to me on my birthday and wedding anniversary.) No complaints from the neighbors downstairs, yet. At least they haven't said anything. I'd feel bad if they did though, they are a nice, quiet, older couple.

Wish I could say the same. I have two middle aged neighbours with 5 kids, 2 dogs and a cat. Yeah, I did turn down the volume on my sub, but the music didn't sound the same, so I had to turn it back up. Music is my life, I can't lower the volume to suit them. It's all me me me.
It's not at a ridiculous level either, that's what annoys me.

I know what you mean. It's definitely a lot harder to downplay the level of intensity as far as bass goes, no matter how low you go. Not like treble. The thud of a bass just cuts through like a knife...
