'Tis another query directed towards Tom/Ed/miloco2forum. I sent this in to the Ask Tom and Ed section but I thought about posting this here as I think it is something that a lot of fans are interested in.

The query is if you have any plans to release a remix compilation, especially soon. You hinted at this in the 'Ask..' section but it might have been a while ago. Is it something you have always wanted to do but haven't put into effect or is it highly likely to be released/planned soon? You have made brilliant remixes all over the 'musical map' and of course some of these are hard to get now because they are on rare formats. Having them all or a particular selection on one format is a great project, a nice collector's item especially for fans. On the contrary I suspect if you wanted to do this you may have done a compilation at the same time as Singles 93-03. Please don't think that this is some sort of demand or we all want this released now, this is really just a query from a fan.

Thanks! :D I was going to do it myself anyhoo.

If he does read it I think I should say this; I love the Manics remixes, especially La Tristesse Durera, the original/remix are so different but both amazing! I think this is their best remix out of all of them. Of course there are loads of other really good ones too. Mercury Rev one is really uplifting, Dave Clarke and Lionrock remixes sound just cool. I have only heard short samples and have yet to own these on CD since (possibly apart from LTD and Faster) they are on rare formats (some a lot rarer than others). I wonder if there any remixes on the horizon? (Feel the Pressure? New Fatboy Slim material?). 8)

One thing I am always wondered about dance music, why are there vocal and 'dub' mixes? What exactly is/the purpose of a 'Dub' mix?

we definetly need this as the remixes are very hard to get and usually very expensive. I have about ten of their remixes and to have all of them would be great as well as some of the earlier stuff such as dope coil, her jazz, dust up beats and my mercury mouth released on a cd by the chems as these are impossible to get.

I heard mercury mouth first on a compilation many years back, which also featured Mr. Fingers: Can you feel it

"Her Jazz" and "My Mercury Mouth" are available on CD compilations

I know that but they are both been deleted are especially hard to get, especially tribal gathering and it would be cool if they were released properly by them.

In fact, it'd be really cool if they could re-release all the Dust Brothers material on one CD:

01.Song to the siren (Original Dust Brothers Mix)

02.Song to the siren (Full Sabre mix)

03.Song to the siren (Sabre 100% chunk mix)

04.Chemical beats (Full single version)

05.One too many mornings*

06.Dope coil

07.Her jazz

08.My mercury mouth

09.If you kling to me i'll klong to you*

10.Dust-up-beats

11.Dust-up-beats (Mix 1)

yeah now that would be awesome

* - optional

Would be much more than simply impressive :)
