he's right, they do say blackout once on the ebw version, or possibly the radio edit since they do some funky shit on that, but I know it's on one of those

I don't remember "blackout" on either...
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

I mistakenly posted this in the EBW 5 thread mistakenly, one might understand why I might get the two confused since they're nearly the same topic:

I know now they don't sample Ingram saying "blackout" on the radio edit. However, I am positive it is on a version out there. I presume it's not the EBW version since they play that sample when they take out the drums and you have that thunderous-lazer noise. So maybe it was on ebw 5, if they have that which i don't recall they do. I might've heard it on a DJ set many moons before it was put out as a nice little single. Before the single, I recall hearing it in 2 DJ sets (excluding dusted decks/in glint), one which had "everything must go" as the next track I presume was a DJ set from the chems. But a friend of mine played me another DJ set that had Afrika in it around that time too. I doubt the latter one was a chems set since the next track was a housy track (Dj feelgood?). So it must be one of those that Cap'n and I heard the other vocal sample on. I'm guessing it was the one with manic after and that was a version prior to the pressing of ebw 5. If not, maybe someone added in that sample. Anyway, think I'll go dig through all my dj cds and see if i still have one

My fav EBW is probably 5, I'd love to get that not for collecting but because It Began is my favorite dance track from the chems in recent years. I'd probably buy the Japan edition of the singles for it, however, I've already coughed up enough money getting a promo months back so I think I'll just keep it simple and buy the US version on the 30th.

Nothing special, eh? Track 11 on CD2 is Electronic Battle Weapon version of "It Began In Afrika" - it's not available on CD elsewhere. Furthermore, it seems like it's not even available on vinyl anymore.

It's not the EBW version. Its exactly the same as the "full" version on the US IBIA single.

Are you sure? Coz it says Electronic Battle Version on the cover. Isn't it so?

It doesn't say Electronic Battle Version on the cover.

It is the same 8:41 track as the US single. Not the 10 minute EBW version. Even the bookley just says it is "It Began In Afrika" and that's it. The Japanese description of the track just says that it was originally called "Electronic Battle Weapon 5", meaning it is NOT that version.

Just like the Dexter's track, this is another change from the pre-release tracklisting on websites, compared to what actually came out.

There is NO mix of M:R. The only reasons to pick it up:

The stickers. One of the best bonus items with any CD EVER!

Having a "Best of" disc with one more song than the others :)

So Rukes, Music:Response is the same as the single version and It began in Afrika is the same as the album version? So you do not recommend us other chem-fans buying it unless we want the stickers? And how about IBIA for all the other fans. What is the difference between IBIA single, album (that difference I know), EBW-version, white label and live version?

The version of Music:Response is just the plain old version. Nothing special about it, except it is edited down to fit on the CD with the other tracks.

It Began In Afrika is the exact same one as the US single extended version. Having not heard the other live or EBW versions of IBIA, I don't know the difference.

Right now, I would suggest all casual Chemical Brothers fans to hold off on it now, to see what the US and UK ones come with.

Of course, all hardcore fans should get this, along with the Golden Path maxi CD single from amazon.co.jp asap :)

What's the length of Music:Response on Japanese Singles 93-03? And "It Began In Afrika"?

M:R is 4:22

Afrika is 8:39

This is from the book included, so the tracks themselves are +/- a few seconds.

I tried E-mailing you anType. What resolution/file format do you want the scan in? Where should I send it to?
