When the Chems dj'd Coachella a few years ago, back before Come With Us, they were listed on the line up with "(dj set)" next to their name.

Well, if it is a live set, I'm tempted. I've driven coast to coast across the US before but didn't get to see much of California sadly. :(
Would be great to get there AND see the Chems, if I can afford it and get the time off. Not too wild about most of the rest of the line-up though.
Taking your brain to another dimension!

Another thing I just thought of that leads me to further believe this is *not* a dj set.

Yeah, my husband isn't too thrilled with the rest of the line-up - but I dig and think it's tempting. I would love to see the Cocteau Twins, I just love them. And maybe check out Bloc Party, Mercury Rev and k-os - support the bands that've worked with the Chems!
His gripe is the desert heat, he just hates being so hot that you can't do anything but look for shade all day and I can totally understand where he's coming from. I don't do too well in desert heat either. I love seeing shows but I don't get out to concerts very much, if at all anymore these days. Coachella affords me the chance to see a bunch of different bands all in one go and I've got my live gig fix until the next gig opportunity arises.
The only way I can drag my hubby to festivals is if the Chems are playing. He'll suffer in the desert heat only for Tom and Ed and nobody else! (that, and he won't have to hear me whine that me made me miss the Chems! ;) )
Anyway - it would be cool if you came out to California. If you can arrange the time and funds, be sure and let us know!!

ANYWAYS .. there is usually DJ's on before the "live" sets in the tents and there has often been more than one "dj" style ten usually the other ones kind of D.N.B and then thers a small ten for odd/hip hop/indie style groups with smaller dedicated fan bases.
anyways I'm gonna be there for NIN, on day 2 .. gonna try to work out being there for chems on day one. Day 2 is a priority this year though.

The Chemical Brothers are headlining Coachella in the main tent this year on April 30th, and you can expect a slew of new songs to be performed live. Tom and Ed recently played at this year's Big Day Out in Australia and we have heard that some of the current songs performed live include "Galvanize," "Believe," "The Big Jump," Come Inside" and "Surface To Air"! New U.S. dates will be announced shortly. Stayed tuned to WIW for Chemical action in your neck of the woods soon....

The best thing for you to do, EBW, is catch a ride with someone to Coachella. You need to talk a friend into driving you down. It's way out in Indio, and I don't think passenger trains go out that way at least not anywhere near the venue.
You'll need to get a hotel, or a motel. Do it fast! The rooms book early. Or there's a campground not too far from the site that's fairly reasonable.
You may want to check the coachella.com site - it talks about lodging and stuff like that. There's even a messageboard on there. You may be able to see what other people are doing and where they are staying - there might even be people from your school who are going.
As of yet, I haven't even gotten my tickets. We're waiting a little bit, this month is a financial crunch. So I have no idea if I'm going to be staying anywhere near the venue, or driving home afterward. I do know one thing - I'm only going on Saturday, because both days are too expensive plus lodging... no can do.
We'll keep each other posted, OK?

I know I have a friend who has a car here and that MIGHT let me borrow it to go all the way down to indio.

They are due to play at the Kaiser arena in Oakland on Friday April 29.
Where'd you get this info?
I cant find anything on it.
Anyone think that the press ppl are doing a kinda bad job at promoting the US tour? Maybe more stuff will come later.
