This is something else, now i don't know what to do for first listen, ITM are putting on "listening parties" in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. I can only hope this means they will be playing the DVD on a nice big screen or summat.

ooo nice. Yea im leaning towards the friends listening party. I am lucky person in that the majority of my friends either love the chemies just as much i do, or atleast appreciate them. Nothing better then absorbing the new chems with the people you love. now to find the biggest and baddest sound system.

Yeah I was in Bendigo last year but i moved down to Geelong for uni. Now I just have to decide who to take with me. I don't think any of my friends would appreciate such an honor

I filled in the entry form, and wrote a massive "i cant pick a favourite song" entry. and then i decided i couldn't let my first listen be assosiated with having smirnoff advertising crammed down my throat, so i deleted it. also, i have a big group of friends who will want to listen with me for the first time.

It was a small bar with a good atmosphere and everyone seemed to be having a great time. It was good that as the night wore on and the crowd started to thin out then we could hear it so much clearer. We also go some cool stuff when we got there like a big poster of the album cover.


So now to the songs.
1.Snow: Just a really chilled out intro track, the vocal samples seemed to fit it really well. It also was a good build up to...
2.Escape Velocity: Well I probably don't need to describe this one to you. The build up seemed even longer than i remembered but it is still just as awesome as when i first heard it. Also i never heard the man talking at the end until the 3rd listen because it was just too loud
3.Another World: This is now my favorite song off the album. I thought escape velocity was big but then when this came on i was blown away. It starts very slow with some nice vocals but then it just goes insane.
4.Dissolve: I'm not sure if this was the mad ending of another world i was just talking about. So maybe another world was the chilled one and then mixed really well into this one. Ha i'm not sure.
5.Horse Power: Another really good track. At this point in the album I hadn't heard anything i didn't like .
6.Swoon: OH MY GOD SWOON! I really loved the single version but the 6min version just makes it something else. Perfect place to put it as well i thought.
7.k+d+b: Not actually sure i remember this one to be honest. If i heard it again i would but it didn't really stick in my head.
8.Wonders Of The Deep: Similar to k+d+b, in that i don't remember that much about it. Although it was a good track to finish the album, but not an epic last track in my opinion.

Probably better stop rambling now but i just had to let it out. Well done Tom and Ed, you've made a truly wonderful album.

Ok to the Album, I'm not going to make a full review of it as I didn't get a chance to fully hear it without loud voices or the occiasional ballon popping however I have no doubt that I already regard it as one of my favorite. I know I have probably said this before with WATN and PTB when I started on this forum however I truly believe it this time. My favorite track so far is probably Another World, sounds a lot like My Bloody Valentine with a wicked beat. I really don't know what else to say at this point as I have to have a better listen but Swoon is much better as a album version and in a club! My Husband at one point though couldn't hear the album properly and asked during Horse Power why they were playing Music Response. Ahh Bless.

i'm really envious of you guys having heard it (and the free poster!) but i'm glad i didn't enter. i probably would have hated everyone standing around talking over it, i don't think they would have appreciated my attitude towards them.

It was at EuroTrash in china town (off little Bourke St), I've never been there before but I liked it, really cool little bar. I kinda happy you didn't go Bagde, I think you would have yelled at everyone popping balloons. I got two posters though 'cos my husband and I both got one so if you want one of ours I can give you one somehow.... Let me know!!
