What is the matter with you man? You're a proper angry person. Do you need to be so angry all the time? Look for the things that make you smile, rather than focusing on the negative.

I hate it when the neighbors carry on as if they are the only people in the world that exist. We used to live downstairs underneath these 2 guys who had, at any given time, an extra 3 or 4 people living with them. Instead of a couch they had a trampoline in their livingroom. They were always having parties as they never, ever slept, so everyone would be carrying on and jumping on this trampoline right over our heads. They would bounce on it, then fall off and it sounded like a herd of bison were charging across our ceiling. It shook windows and stuff I had on shelves. Plus, they always had the subwoofer turned up so their pounding trance penetrated right through the floor (which was our ceiling).

stash and I live in a nice place and we pay a small fortune to live where we do, so we really didn't appreciate this kind of behavior. It's just bad manners, it's doesn't matter who you are. If you want to party, then fine - just don't do it on a week day after 10:00pm when my son's trying to get some sleep. And if it's on weekends please have a little courtesy to warn neighbors beforehand that the party is going late into the wee hours.

We didn't want to be dicks so we never called the cops, but enough was enough so we told the leasing office and they had words with the neighbors. We put in our notice to move to another unit (top floor) not too long afterward - we still had a few months left on our lease but we couldn't take it anymore. A couple days later one of the neighbors came downstairs to apologize and properly introduce himself. Now that it's just the 2 guys living there and the trampoline is gone and we don't live underneath them, all is good. The old neighbors turned out to be pretty cool (except for Crackhead Jimmy, but he doesn't live there anymore).

Anyhow, rather than take out your anger on their personal property why don't you confront them. You never know, they might not know they are being annoying... and they might end up being cool.

thats exactly my point!! they are only new and if they had said they were having a party i wouldnt have minded. the cops were nice when i called them but it was a sat night so really busy for them. its just plain rudeness, if my daughter had been in my house trying to sleep i would have walked straight into the house and beaten the shit out of the hi fi....i went into them to ask them to turn it down and they were cunts, said "oh yeah no problem sorry mate" then all their mates started shouting louder!

anyhows, we shall see, they never even came into introduce themselves, this is a really really respectable neighbourhood, only families, and couple settled dowm, these are a young couple, its their first house so maybe they are just finding their freedom....they have one more chance though before i go ape shit on them...

He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

They all probably started shouting louder cuz that's what alcohol does - makes your voice go up a few decibles without you realizing it. ;) Anyway, if they start getting rowdy again just go over and have a few words. Just say they're not being cool and you have a little daughter who needs her sleep and you have a job - exchange phone numbers, ask if it's OK if you give them a call to tell them to simmer down if things get out of hand (that's what we've done, it seems to work and it's better than calling the cops). If they still can't behave call the cops and let the law take care of it. You know how hard it can be to control yourself when you're drunk. It's no excuse and I'm not excusing their behavior, but with the holiday weekend and everything I can see why they've gotten out of hand. They are your neighbors afterall, so for the time being you have to live in their proximity. Plus you don't know who these people know - it might not be good to go getting into fights.

Trampolines are cool and all, but having one in your livingroom in lieu of furniture is so whiskey tango. These apartments are 3 stories high - these people used to make so much noise that the bottom floor neighbors called the cops.

Anyway - these kids that live there are really nice actually. They aren't bad people, they were just loud!

stash went over there one time when they had a house full of people rolling on ecstasy. One of them jumped on the trampoline and fell, managing to whack his balls on the hard metal edge. Poor kid spent about 20 minutes puking after that. X-D

If it was up to me I would have all trampolines banned. If people only knew how many kids and young adults get seriously hurt on these things they would saw theirs in half and that would be that.

Not to piss in anyones cheerios ( hehe ) but brian don't you think youre overreacting. Being angry is one thing - lowering yourself to the levenlof youre daughter - ' i'm angry so i'm gonna break youre barbie doll! ' is something else. Just my opinion.

I had to deal with those situations too and talking to those people as an adult is usually the best option.

Just my opinion.

i seem to have been a bad bad neighbour at many places for many yrs, but luckily have never had any neighbour problems or complaints ever because of loud music. weekdays i don't listen to music loud after avg sleeping hours, sometimes much earlier; but weekends i usually decenly play my funky music pretty loud, some special nights right into the mornings too.

never've had any complaints in eight yrs now. i think it's because most of the music i play is very very pleasant music.

i've actually thought bout this, am thankful for not runnin into music volume problems, sometimes u need u'r freedom to play u'r music loud and big. it'd be pretty shit otherwise, as i've seen with some friend's homes.

we live on a ravine property -- both sides.

our (mine and my sisters) parties some times get madly loud and madly late in the evening, on various days of the week. live bands playing, loud music blaring! ska ,old school punk, loudness, dance music being Dj'd, you name it.

we have the coolest neighbours ever, not a word unless it is that of praise -- they have been known to come hang out.

oh and trampolines: I used to be a gymnast (until I smashed me knee real nicely....) and I gotta tell you, trampolines with safety are fabulous! but only with safety; nuts hurt!
