Hahahahha! the Reel is the same as Surface to Air? Who's this guy? I would tell him something! These are people that never listen carefully or care about the entire song at all and are just listening to them as they're doing when going through shopping malls. Simple minds in my opinions. Musically the album is perfect it's just a difference in what taste in music you have. And i think that comparison thing should be thrown away. Pick up any song you want they never sound the same. One should take one song as a picture on the wall you're looking at, it's borring to hear all the time it sound like this or that unless it isn't def. hearable! And that's obviously not the case if you're honest! What will you hear if you're listening to metallica's albums? Would you say, oh man they use all the time their guitars and drum kit it sound pretty the same? It's not the way you should listen to music . . . (regarding that guy's opinion). Or what about Mozart? I could go on and on . . .
And by the way i don't see Left Right as a total hip hop track if you're comparing it to most of hip hop that all around. Think of the wah wah guitar loop not very hip hoppish . . .

yeh theres nothign wrong with criticising tom n ed - even if its as simple as 'i dont like' - but when they say contradictory thigns, its just like 'have u actually listened to the album? no? thought not.'
Yes, im also a critical listener of tom & ed and i also don't like all songs(not more than one or two), there are gradiations i think . . .

The annoying thing is that many that I know who is critics to the Chemical Brothers and electronic music in general often uses that argument..... Aaeeerrghh I hate my narrow minded "friends" }:-) }:-)
It's probably cause most of 'em are classically schooled in music since they were kids (i'm in a music class at school) ...

i don't mind classic music and much other types of music too. I'm listening to it sometimes when driving car and have that cultural channel. It's just the way you understand music. But ok i must confess i'm also sometimes very hard in critisising...

Things that make you go "awww!"
This weekend we drove to Arizona, and the way you get there from where we are is south and east. On the way out of California you drive through all the desert cities on the way to the California/Arizona border - that means you drive past Indio which is where Coachella is held.
So we're moving along the highway, and we're telling stash's mom (she was driving) that this is where we make our pilgrimage to Coachella to see the Chemical Brothers. And that's that, we press onward toward Arizona. Flashforward to today and we're making our way home, driving back down into the desert valley and you can make out the town of Indio off in the distance. You could see the mountains that cradle the polo fields where the festival is held. We drive further into the valley and we make the obligatory acknowledgment "theeeeere's Coachella!" Finally we're in the valley driving past Indio, and my son rolls down the window a bit and screams, "We love you Tom! We love you Ed!" a few times before we could take no more my son's proclaiming his love (and mocking us) at the top of his lungs. Sure the other holiday drivers wondered what the hell was up but that's what my son did for the Bros today.

My son will be 8 at the end of March. It's funny what comes out of the mouths of babes.
There's this audio clip that ElectronicBattleWarrior posted - it's of him and stash screaming "We love you Tom! We love you Ed!" and me screaming, the rest of our crew going ape, then ElectronicBattleWarrior screaming "MILOCOOOOO!!". We have it on our computer but we also burned the clip on cd at the beginning of Coachella set - so my son's heard it a million times.

Well first off i must say i had a fabulous thanksgiving weekend, ate alot of food, gained about 10 useless pounds, and drank way too much alchool.
Anyways, about 2 weeks ago i gave my cousin my mini disc of all the Chemical Brothers Albums on it to listen to it. So I meet back up with him at Thanksgiving dinner, the topic of music gets brought up and he says "dude that chemical brothers music you gave me, is awesome"...i go on about how the chemical brothers are the greatest thing and so on....im suprised he liked it since he's a really big "phish fan"....so thats recruit number one for me on thanksgiving
.....then i go over to my other family's thanksgiving dinner/party and i meet up with another one of my cousins. It gets warm in the house and i decided to take off my nicer shirt so i can be a little more comfertable. Of course the shirt i had under my nicer shirt that i took off, was my hoops/ebw6 shirt......right away everyone starts asking me about the donkey on my shirt.... i explain its a shirt from my favorite band the chemical brothers.... my cousin joe (in his 30's and his favorite music taste include, Ratt and Kid Rock :P )says "the chemical brothers i like them"......i take a double take at him and say "you know them?"i ask... "yeah, i like that song from their earlier stuff....i cant remember the name" joe says........ and then he begins to hum the tune from "let forever be"........i quickly answer "that song is Let Forever Be"..... i continue find out what else he knows about them and continue to give him my little spiel about the chemical brothers that i do to just about everyone that mentions their names/or asks me about them....so thats recruit number two :D
Then on Saturday i went to downtown chicago, wich was beatiful and totally crowed of people walking up and down michigan avenue and state street, getting ready to celebrate christmas. I ended up in the Virgin Megastore on Michigan avenue and ended up purchasing two new Vinyls....Block Rockin Beats and It Began In Afrika.
I came along something interesting in the CD section at Virgin though.....and wondered if anyone knows of this.......there was a chemical brothers cd with all of their remixes on it.... if i recall the cover of it was pink and the copy right date was 2005....is this something new? i dont think it came from astralwerks/Freestyle Dust though.....ill have to look it up on the internet
sorry my writing is terrible........its 5:15 in the morning :-//

it was the Chems remixing other artists
i found a link to the cd on amazon (sorry it doesnt have a picture of it)
http://www.amazon.co...=glance&s=music
i would have bought it at virgin megastore but it was $30 and i didnt have enough money at the time....i guess the purpose of the cd is to make it easier for die hard chemical fans to track down remixes by the chems.
