I hate to be a pissamist, but I'm sure you'll be having bs like that happen from time to time, djing is just one of those jobs that occasionally is a dousche magnet. But don't let it deter you! Probably will happen less and less once you have a bit of "street cred" under your belt.

Speaking of music, I'm pretty excited because I have a somewhat new band (we all met in college) and have been playing a bit more and Saturday after I carried my 200lb Rhodes piano up to my studio we played a cover of The Pills Wont Help You Now, more in the form of the live version that sounded like sexy buttery goodness. Had all my synths running and was able to do some fun improvising, it was one of those moments you have in music where your in you element.

::laughs:: I'dlike to think that my anal attentive nature toward grammar is spreading.

Good advice. Patience.

And I want to hear your band whenever you play any gigs.

@Poot

The inchem opinion:

That's BS! I never heard of an bar owner hiring 2 DJ's and swap music every 30 minutes. Some club owners do that but if the owner wanted to hear 2 types of music, why would you want to hire 2 DJ's when you only need one. Besides Pooter, you got there first! I think the owner should've communicated with you way earlier before your set-up. I personally wouldn't want somebody touching my gear. or worst case scenario..getting your DJ gig hijacked. If it's the owners gear, then go share, if not, there's always other places for you to DJ Pooter.

or...the courteous opinion.

Talk with the owner and get feedback, whether good or bad and learn from it. Talk to the other DJ as well, he might feel a little bit uncomfortable about it too. Just tell him what's up, introduce..yourself, and maybe..ah..talk about music..ahh.... hang out and be his friend..ahh...

WAIT A MINUTE!...now that just sounds really gay what I just said! Forget the last paragraph and go with my first opinion Pooter! The owners dumb, the other Dj's dumb, burn the place down!( I had a bad day too today Poot!)

There may be some ambiguity Pooter, but it's all about learning for yourself and the DJ scene. Hope everything works out over there.

@SeƱor Biff

You should've recorded it! I would of probably loved it. (and others here as well!) I too, also get into my element when it comes to making music..

...like beatboxing in the bathroom! Gives a great little echo.

Tough break, 'Pooter. That was some douchebaggery indeed. It sounds like you've hit the highs and lows of spinning all in one week. Biff and inchem offered some good advice (not including the fire and all). Learn from the experience and move on, and definitely talk to the bar owner so it doesn't happen again. Hopefully your next gig goes more smoothly.

But according to the DON'T BUY FROM THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS SHOP thread, the Burst Generator Buttplugs have yet to arrive.

Nevermind.

I love you guys.

Happy Friday, folks. Glad to be on the tail end of this week.

Poots, I'd love to go, but I think I've been beaten into submission by work this week, plus last week I went to cirque de sol (me fail french? that's unpossible) and spent 3 burst generator butt plugs worth of money!

One day!!

::laughs:: Biff ftw.

If you come up, I'll buy your ticket. Your girlfriend's ticket too, even. But all good if you don't.

Other than that, had some great French tapas tonight, helped a friend go cheese shopping, and managed to pick up some supplies for a nice little sideline which may get me through the next year financially.

Looking forward to the near future. I feel good things to come for us all. Close your eyes, breathe. Patience.

Got back from southern california today after traveling to attend a memorial service and hanging out with my son for 24 hours.

I have a cold, and it's been fierce over the last day or so.

I got teased, real bad, by one of my friends back home. (girl, and sexual-teasing, for the record)

I'm going to see !!! this weekend.

I'm proud of the USA hockey team.

That is all for now, until Tuesday when I DJ next. I need to work on a set. There's a girl coming to see me...

It's 2-1 Canada right now. 3rd period coming up.

Cheers on your next gig Poot!

I'm getting acquainted with my new city, found new eating places, especially in the downtown area. Super lively in these parts with plenty of good routes for my running. Big Bonus for finding three record shops in which I found some good jems. I tried a mint copy of Eye of the Tiger by Survivor by mashing up with Loops of Fury and got good results.

Other than that, wish you all the best.

congrats canada i guess!

Hello to all forumites! its been a while.

Go pooter with the girls!:D What you thinking of putting in your DJ set man? A chemical touch at some point i hope :P

I've been quite a forum hermit as of late due to working a shitload of hours. However i've got good news in my world right now. The DJ/producer Myagi has confirmed that he is going to release a song that my friend and i made on what he says 'a 10 track psychadelic "out there" compilation".

Also i head to sydney tomorrow to go see the prodigy and does it offend you yeah?

Things are looking good right now :)

P.S

I'll report back about the prodigys performance when i get back.

Ooh, nice. The Prodigy puts on an intense, fully electric, energetic show. Jealous, man.

And yes, there's a nice bit of chemical influence at the beginning of my set. :-) I'll post tomorrow.
