wow
Tom Rowlands said : "The most important feature of the album is that it connects with us emotionally in some way. We hope for finding a new way to make you feel. We dream of new sounds and different frames. We have worked with some guest singers but mostly the album is pure Chemical Brothers."

I know to us, we don't need a panel of judges or an award committee to tell us the Chems are great cuz we already know that. But I like this kind of stuff anyway. It means people are listening, critiquing and taking note. It makes me proud to be a fan and proud of our boys. All the accolades are well deserved. I hope to keep revisiting this thread, whenever there is another award to put on the mantle.

I think Recognition by other awards committees sets the pace and paves the way to the bigger crowning achievements although it's not always in the bag or a done deal (we all know the Oscars pick some real duds or crap films... and sweep over films that may be more deserving of awards)
The LAFCA awards are influential in the sense the panel is made up of film critics who are already embedded in the industry as career critics. And media is such a huge part of the cinematic machine. An award like this is important in that critical acclaim trumps that of box office sales.
That said I honestly dont know the scope of influence something like this would be on the Oscars or GG but logic tells me these panels of judges and critics all tend to run in the same circles. I could be wrong! I guess we'll see!

Yeah, he wears a suit. What's so weird about that?
Ed, I can't quite say you're aging gracefully, what with the shrinking and all, but you are managing to rock that Jew fro! Nice work! Also, nice suit.
Tom, you look very happy to be receiving that award. Congratulations, sir.
