Hmmmm..... I kinda want to go see Sasha DJ in Toronto in June....

From internetdj.com:

"Beginning May 28, Sasha will embark on a U.S. tour where he'll demonstrate his custom Maven live-mixing controller. The tour will lead up to the June 21 release of Sasha's FUNDACIONnyc (Global Underground) which is the first mix album ever to be mixed on the Maven. While on tour, Sasha will utilize the custom Maven controller for his Ableton Live set-up. No turntables for these sets. Already successfully tested at his monthly Crobar residencies, he will sample, loop, and fuse elements from multiple songs at once with the controller."

Apparently this new controller allows him to mix elements from as many as 5 songs together at once. He says it's rejuvenated his interest in DJing. Has me excited, to be honest.

The Toronto set is the last on his tour (June 18), and unfortunately the LA show is the first one (next Saturday). Tom & Ed, post your tour dates so I know what kind of disposable income I have!!!

Oh, and I bought off eBay last night the Delta Sun Bottleneck Stomp single, so I'll be enjoying a Chems remix I've never heard before within a couple weeks...

Outbid on TPPR single however, but I'm the top bidder for a Live at the Social copy.

Aw i had such a fantastic weekend...it's a present , everytime i'm down about something , something happends to cheer me up! I was down cause ,well , i had quite high expectations from Japan , i mean workwise..the last times i was here i worked pretty good and made good money. But this time..i dont know what it is , but i dont work. And that sucks cause i need money so bad but this way i'm only losing money , and altough tokyo is GREAT , i still need money. So i am probably leaving next week...ai! I was kinda down about that. So back to Paris and Barcelona ( Thats cool to! )

So...well...Friday evening was just INSANE. At one point , me and my fiend went to the subway in Shibuya to go the Roppongi where all the clubs are , and all this people , all the lights , all this crazyness...we were already quite drunk and we were like " OMG WE ARE IN TOKYO WHOOOO!" That was such a great feeling. Well the whole night was kind off like a trip , we met so so so many new people !!! And this club we went to is SO NOT MY STYLE , it's dodgy and they play terrible music and ALL the models go there , but i was so so drunk that i didnt care and i danced my ass off to all this terrible tunes hahaha. Wat a great night that was. Yesterdat i was so hung over , and than today , WHAT A DAY!

There is some sort of fetsival today , Japanase Carnaval or whatever , where all the kids and teenager's and also older people dress up , mostly like manga - figure's !!! And it was , woow , we were in this amusement park in the middle of the city , i've already been there a million times , but this time it was...damn! Like on a different planet with all this dressed up people! And the rides there are so good , so that was great , fucking GREAT :D

So yeah , i had the best weekend ever...it cracked me up , altough i am kinda broke and i dont work that well ( Except the Fructis TV commercial ) annd stuff...i still had this experience and no one is going to take that from me :D

Sorry for this fucking LONG post , but i had to share it with ya'll...

And ehm , keep an eye on this thread for picture's of crazy japanese dressed-up people!!!!

PEACE!

This is true....

But there also are cool clubs.

(I prefer indie music clubs. )

Jeanie, I'm sorry to hear about you having to ditch out on Japan early.

But you know, some things happen for a reason. Maybe when you are in France and Spain, an even bigger opportunity will come up that you might not have had the chance to get when in Japan.

What's awesome is that you have the experience and you're right, nobody can take that away from you.

Sometimes it's a cool thing to say you did something (like go to a tacky club in Japan and have the weekend of your life ;) ) simply for no other other reason than to say "because I could."

No regrets, I say.

You have a great attitude, and everything will fall into place.

8) Great pictures Jeanie - love those costumes the Japanese "kids" are wearing, especially the school uniforms. Very Battle Royale. I'm sure 'stash will tell his coworker of these pictures, he is of the Asian persuasion.

And of course you're cute as a button, it looks like you're living life to the fullest.

That rollercoaster looks wicked insane! If I ever get a chance to ride it, I'll be sure and avoid sushi and sake beforehand.
