So last night I had this dream. For some reason tom and ed were passing though where I lived and for some how I contacted them and was asked them if they wanted to stop by my house for a while. Anyways, They responded and said that they would. So they show up to my house and say hello and meet my family. The whole time I cannot believe that this is happening. I couldnt wait to show them my collection (with all the EBW and first ep's). We were just chilling watching the olympics and Tom was on my couch watching. I then had to go take a shower or something and when I got back, they had left! Man I was sooo disappointed. I wanted to have my picture taken with them and get them to sign my diamond song to the siren press. They did leave the boxset of lp's from The Singles 93-03 So I was happy about that.
Anyways, so this makes me seem totally obessed. I think I had the dream because I started working on my Chemical Combine mix for the first time in a loooong time. I thought I'd share the dream with you guys to lighten up your day.

X-D That's cute! Isn't it strange how dreams put you in a funk?
I've had dreams where I've been at Chemical gigs but never dreams where I was face to face with them and definitely not any where Tom and Ed were lounging around on my livingroom furniture watching the Olympics! X-D
The most vivid Chemical dream I had was about 3 years ago. I was not feeling well and was running a fever and was completely loaded on cough syrup (which induces pretty funky dreams, I tell you.) My friend, Nicole who I'm proud to say is my long lost Chemical Sister who I met on their old mailing list, called and we chatted for a while until I could no longer keep my eyes open.
It was midday and I went to bed. I was asleep before my head even hit the pillow. The next thing I knew, I was at Coachella, but it wasn't Coachella. (You know how dreams do that.) Come to think of it now, the 'Coachella' in my dream looked a lot like the scenery in the Golden Path video with all the rolling hills and trees blowing softly in the breeze and happy hippies dancing around. Minus the bubbles. My dream didn't have bubbles.
Anyway. The Chemical Brothers were doing a set inside a sort of recreation center, smack dab in the middle of this nowhere Coachella that was in my dream. It was a large brown brick building, and this special set was for special event pass holders such as myself (it's funny how in dreams, everything is sort of ex-post facto) as well as a whole bunch of other people from the old Chemical Brothers mailing list including Nicole who I'd just gotten off the phone with before I took a nap. So we line up outside, and it feels like hours that we're just waiting there, and this event promotor comes up to us and tells us that we have to remove our shoes in order to get into the building.
So everyone takes off their shoes and lines them up against the outer wall of the building, and we make our way inside. But it's not 'inside' in the true sense, it's an open courtyard that's surrounded by 4 walls. But it's not a grassy courtyard, because there was a giant pool where the grassy enclosed field should be. We all stood around the edges wondering what in the hell was going on. It seemed like we waited another good hour figuring "what the hell is going on?" before the concert promotor came out and told us that the Chemical Brothers were not going to play until every single person was in the pool.
So one by one, we all make our way into the pool with our clothes on and everything. The prmotor proved a few beach balls, but at this point everyone was thinking how ridiculous this was. Frans, a very outspoken listee, said, "Jesus Christ, this sucks! This is worse than the fucking Surrender tour!!" (and if you knew Frans, you'd totally understand why he said this in my dream.) He was the last one in the pool and boy, was he pissed off.
Finally, out come Tom and Ed. They are wearing swim shorts and these goofy Hawaiian shirts. They take one look at everyone in the pool and start laughing... at us. Pointing, whispering, laughing some more.
Then I woke up. My fever must have broken at some point during the dream because I was lying in a large puddle of sweat and my pillow was all wet and nasty, as was my hair. So between that and the cough syrup and the phone conversation I had with my chemical sister, that explains why I had a dream that took place at a Chemical Brothers gig in a pool.
