I tried picking up one of those UK music rags the other day, and they're still wetting their pants over Pete Doherty.
In the same breath it seems they are celebrating his lifestyle yet condemning it. Either way, the comparisons to Sid Vicious are being made.
The guy is a complete whack job in the throes of a very painful drug addiction that has clearly overrun his life. The thought he's a father is disturbing. I was reading this article a couple months back - I think it was in Q, and the journalist who was interviewing Pete Doherty seemed to be genuinely concerned about Pete's condition. But Pete was so whacked out he couldn't even get on the phone to his ex girlfriend so he could see his child. He wanted the journalist to do it. It was actually very very sad.

i feel a bit sorry for pete doherty.
he's blatantly got BIG problems, yet he surronds himself with people that tell him its ok to keep doing what he's doing, mostly for the purposes of making them money - alan mcgee of creation records said 'he's my kurt cobain' - i mean wtf!!?!! he topped himself!
i went to school with carl from the libertines, he's a genuinely nice bloke. they kicked pete out so he could sort himself out, because the way he was going he was going to do himself an injury. they did it because they actually cared about him, and didnt want him fucking himself up.
but rather than get soreted he formed babyshambles, and carried on the way he's going. i dunno, it just seems to me he gets built up by all the people around him, and when the time comes for the fall its gonna be pretty hard.
anyway, artists whoi deserve death:

maroon 5
all of that radio friendly soft rock shite - it';s so blandly inoffensively polite it drives me up the wall!! }:-) }:-)

Well this isn't a hard one.....Robbie Williams!
I never thought he was that bad (he is BAD but I just couldn't careless) until my mum dicovered who he is and the type of music he plays and decided to buy his friggen live DVD and play it over and over and over every bloody day until my hair falls out from the stress! So I try and get out the house a little so I don't have to hear it for a least one day...and my mate picks me up in her car and guess whats she's listening to....yes thats right damn crap Robbie! Then after all that we walked into a CD store and guess what thy have decided to happily let their customers listen to...oh yeah thats right fucken Robbie!
He is stalking me through his music and wants to turn me into one of he's zombie fans who need there fix of robbie every friggen day!

Never cared much for Manson's music, not my thing really but my respect for him went up several notches after seeing Bowling For Columbine. What he said made a lot of sense, and he brought up his point intelligently. Plus the fact he cancelled his Colorado shows after Columbine out of respect for the victims and the Littleton community speaks volumes.
