the thought of a rocky change in direction and the fact they recorded it in 6 weeks is a cause for concern

Huh? Sorry but did I miss something? Where does it say that? :?

well the whole deal about 6 months, ok it took them 6 months to _record_ it but that doesnt mean they werent working on stuff before they actually got in the studio. They could have been jamming in their own studio before they book time at a recording studio.

Could be written in 6 weeks, it's possible to write a decent song in a day if the inspiration is free-flowing. So if you're really lucky you can write an album in under 2 weeks

It was produced in six weeks, they probably have been working on things for months i mean the orb once said that it took months to get the ideas assembled for that tune with the mad name (the brain that rules from the center of the ultraverse?) but it actually took just 20 mins to mix/produce so i would'nt worry about that to much. Consumer the rocky change of direction was mentioned in the new mixmag magazine.

I can't say I am looking forward to the album but I will check it out. Discovery was a let down, and I have a feeling this album could be just as cheesy. My friend ocaissionally talks to Bangalter and was saying to expect alot of the electric guitar sort of stuff in the new album.

I still listen to Homework all the time and have had that album since it was released, long live Benny the dog and the classic daft sound.

u were saying about the daft punk website ACID

checkout www.daftcrew.com its THE best french dance music website with details on Daft Punk, Air, Thomas Bangalter Le Knight Club, Phoenix, The Eternals, Motorbass, Dj Gregory and a whole load of others (a distinct absence of The Supermen Lovers tho :? )

they have regular updates now that they've bought a proper domain and the new forum will be open soon to find out/discuss 'Human After All'

I have to say, ive not heard anything french in a while since the Aloud album. Roul seems to have stopped along with Crydamoure so theres no way to make a conclusion as to what the album might even sound like.

However, listening back to Thomas' stuff on Roul and Guy-Manuels stuff on Crydamoure, its all very good!

cant wait!

filtered French disco here we come!!

I like many of the artists you can find on the daftcrew site. The classic stuff is so much better in terms of Daft Punk.

In my opinion Discovery strayed away from that or is trying to take the french sound in a really crappy direction.

Classics from Buffalo bunch and stuff off Crydamoure was great. The waves cd on Crydamoure was pretty good and I think last year the released Waves II but that sounded almost the exact same as the first sadly. I have no idea why you would want to include the Supermen Lovers in the same grouping as those artists tho.

The Daft Punk EM from 1997 was great. So many classic tracks in that mix.

8O you have obviously not heard any of his tracks apart from Starlight.

The Supermen Lovers album 'The Player' is fucking fantastic, the EP's stray a little from the disco soaked funk filled album but are still great.

find yourself 'Hard Stuff' the album version (vocals are beter) then tell me he doesnt deserve to be in there.

Yeah I have heard the player,,,there were a few cool tracks but I personally felt the vocals cheesed it up.

You guys think Human After All will be more commercial than Discovery or less?

less, definatly

i recon there will be one fairly comercial track released before the album, which can easily be played on the radio to let people know, then the album will come and bam, underground french house (i hope!)

i dont think that amount of time away from the music would alow a commercialism. i think theyv been cooped up in a club basement listening to every little sound that makes the crowd go, then theyr guna bring it together, returning a little to their roots and show us all what french music is about.

this is all in my opinion of corse 8)
