sneaker:beater - respect your brothers

sneaker:beater is proud to present for a limited time his dj mix. way back in june people talked about laying down mixes, whilst a few people layed down sequenced loops mixes i've gone for the dj approach, cos its what i do best.

for those that are intrested, it was mixed on an allen and heath zone:32 mixer, pioneer cdj 1000, cdj 800 and a tecnichics 1210. there was a thread a couple of months back about vinyl emulating cd turntables being no where near as good as the 'real thing'. i hope this mix can put this theory to rest. the cd turntables give me far more creative freedom, check out the looping on the mix out of 'hey boy hey girl' or 'it doesn't matter'.

i hope you enjoy!!!

In my opinion smooth transitions=good dj, and sneaker you certainly achieved it with the transition from one track to another. I was expecting remix kindda mix but was let down there. Other than that i thought 'Respect Your Brothers' was good work with interesting tracks mixed toghther. I liked Studio K and It Doesn't Matter transitions along with Under the Influence and Life is Sweet. ;-)

I'm at 9 minutes and it sounds good so far, and i'm fiending for some disktables. A suggestion, the album cover is great but I suggest making your name with a different font and the "respect your brothers" with the classic chemical font. It gives you the artist more individuality and it gives further recognition that it's a chemical mix.

Sneakerbeater - I'm about to log off for the evening. I promise I will give a listen to your mix sometime tomorrow (when I have some time to myself, without my husband looming over my shoulder begging me to come watch a movie with him, that is! ;) ) It's just awesome for you and such a sign of creative chemical devotion... I can't wait to hear it! :)

This is really cool, sneakerbeater - well done! I'm about a quarter of the way in so far. Nice smooth transitions like chemicalreaction and anType pointed out, and you can't beat the song line-up! Nice! You are quite an accomplished dj and thanks for sharing this with us! :D

Matter of fact, some of these transitions you made are just epic. I want to burn this to disc and take it with me on the road.

Some people think that it's too much work in listening to the mix. They could do what i did - skip to the part where the song changes coz i think that's where the talent and creativity comes in. Transitions were smooth sneaker:beater. Keep em coming. ;-)

I am thinking of making a New Order/Daft Punk mix. That would be interesting and fun for me. What do you guys think ?

But half the fun is the songs themselves - if it weren't for the songs there'd be no cool transitions! ;) And as far as the New Order/Daft Punk mix, I say go for it young man!

thanks whirlygirl for your comments!!! my mixes are a labour of love. i have many friend who are also dj's. my best mate Mark is probably the most successful of all of us. he has spun at ministry of sound, turnmills, pacha london and the cross many time this year. but having so many friends who spin helps raise the standard of us all. i like to think all this competition has rubbed of on me!!

mexican chemical, i'm afriad that the mix is only gonna be available in real media format, mainly cos i don't have enough server space, also i can't be bothered to change the format. anyway download real player it's free, what you got to loose.

one last plug. listen to my mix kiddies cos i'm gonna take it down soon. i got fresh new non-chems mixes i wanna post on my website!!

sneakerbeater, you're welcome and I'll say one thing if I'll say it a million times and that's I wished I lived in London town! What I want to know is, is there anyway I can burn your mix? I can't seem to figure it out since it's streaming. Seriously, it's really great and would make for a good driving or at work music.

Anyone know how to capture a stream?
