Not to sound nitpicky or anything, especially since Madonna is first and foremost a performer in public life and she's always worn outrageous things on stage... but that outfit looks terrible on her. Shiny purple on Madonna - yuck. She's got a great body that a lot of people would kill for, but that outfit just doesn't seem age approrpriate. It makes her look older than she does in other recent pics I've seen.

Nice one matey!
I heard her performance on the news this morning, I can see what you mean about the out of tune, it wasn't too bad, but I did notice that on the studio version of the track, it's pretty obvious there is a ton of auto-tune working it's magic. Maybe her voice is finally starting to give up on her? She can't keep going forever, after all

this album leaked today.
Has anyone listened to it yet?
It's her most electronic effort to date.. There's a lot of sampling and I think most of it has been used wisely. There are some 100% original tracks (w/o samples!) too, and some of them are really good in my opinion.
my favourite tracks after a few listens are: I Love New York, Future Lovers and Isaac.

But you don't have to necessarily download entire albums to see the evolution of Madonna and compare what she's done in the past to what she's doing now. She's quite different with every album, she always has been ever changing music-wise and persona-wise. That's part of the draw of Madonna - always one step ahead of her legions of fans trying to emulate her every move.
Pick and choose from songs spanning her career. Even the most ardent critics aren't 100% familiar with an artist's entire back catalogue, but the good critics do their homework. At least get familiar with a few songs so you have something to compare the new album to.

ok so i bought the new album(got it for 8 bucks).......its pretty good pop music, the first two songs "hung up" and "get together" are the best on the album in my opinion........i really thought this would be a huge album for her, but it looks like the sales for it have been pretty low............perhaps its a slow builder and the big sales will come after the new year.
God dislikes dancing clearly, so it won't sell in America with a title "Confessions from a Dancefloor". Although some Catholics might be confused into buying it based on the word "confession". They'll be disappointed.

but the difference is - the other times its all seemed really natural ya know? like what shes doing is just one big progression - this time it seems kind of, i dunno forced almost - like she's trying aa bit TOO hard to change.
if u know what i mean :?

Although Madonna is still capable of her old chameleon ways, she's been an entertainer for so long it's not like she'd lose that ability. But it seems she's sort of chasing her own tail and trying to keep up with her old self.
I haven't heard her new album so I can't really pass judgement her current tunes, only what I see of her in the media.
And don't forget her Sex book Darkstarexodus! One of the most risque marketing ploys (that turned off a lot of devout Catholics) for Sex was installing "confession" booths in record stores where people could go have a gander at the too-hot material in the book.
