Daft Punk have made things official with their new label Sony by registering their new material with Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL).

PPL will protect Daft Punk's material from being unlawfully duplicated or leaked, which tells us that the LP's release is imminent and that it will be 13 tracks long.

Although there is no official name for the album, or track names revealed, fans can expect a 74-minute-long album with a few of the tracks lasting between six and nine-minutes-long, indicating there could be a few anthems.


A few long playing songs on there... this is sounding cool.

It's official now : The album is called "Random Access Memories" and is set to be released on May 21st !

Whoa, that's soon.
Let's hope they will accompany the record with a tour sooner or later. Alive 2007 is one of my favourite records and I'd love to see them one day!

Its the same tune though. its only half a minute of one song. There's another hour if that list you put up is correct. There's plenty of room for a few styles. I think its going to be ok. heard both snippets a few times know and its growing on me.

It took me a long time to really appreciate Discovery, Homework was much more immediate.

Plus i still think it could be a massive red herring, that tune could still go a few ways. It is reminding me of aerodynamic for some reason.

I'd like to hear Whirly's version of the lyrics.

I'm not fond of these two samples either, but keep in mind they're from just two of 13 tracks (perhaps even from only one track), and 30 seconds of 74 minutes, so there's hope
