Current Favourite Chems Live Set

Remember how I used to keep complaining about having heard only a few of the live sets since my sad internet speeds wouldn't allow me to get all the sets down from the mixingbowl and the ftp - well about 8 months back my friend got me all the sets out there and of course I've loved almost each and everyone of them, almost all. Some a bit less only because of the bad sound quality.
Somehow this two part set called Live From London had eluded my attention till now - heard it completely last evening and man, was I BLOWN! Honestly I've loved very few sets this much - this is one fine piece of live art! Brilliant songs (Damn - how I hate myself for not having been able to catch the PTB tour!!) - love the way the Chems use the old songs in a good dose with the PTB stuff - absolutely brilliant mixing, brilliant changes, this is one set I don't think I'll get used to for a while - it's keeps on going, and man, is it long! Will post more later, what's u'r current favourite Chems live set?
(Let's leave the dj sets out for the time being, as those are a different level of course).

the one i have is two cds - called live from london cd 1 and 2.
cd 1's bout 51 mins, cd 2's bout 54 mins, starts with that hippie vocal part with the peppershaker thing - what's that song? ends with the reel, and has almost everything from their career in between. from the golden classics to the ptb stuff - one legendary set - at 2 hrs it's intense, and the sound quality's absolutely ravishing. is this an official release? how can someone get this quality on a bootleg unless it's from the soundboard? the crowd sound is distant and pretty faint.

Live at Coachella 2005, largely because it was the first (only!) Chems show I've been to and I have such great memories associated with that weekend. Great sound quality, fantastic set, and listening to it still gives me shivers. And listening to it on acid makes me feel like I'm coming up on my first E all over again.
Amen!! That is my favorite live Chems bootie for the very reasons you state. Except for the acid part. because I wouldn't know!

It's Tomorrow Never knows by Junior Parker. It's a cover from the Beatles song. I thought everybody here knew that :p

Coincidentally, I was talking to a sound guy the other day who was a roadie for Big Day Out 2005 when the Chems were over here. They'd just bought a new PA for the boiler room, and apparently at the end of the set the Chems own sound engineer was just speechless. Said it was the best system he'd ever heard them play on 8)

To tell you the truth ive stayed away from listening to live sets (dont wanna spoil it for my first time seeing them live). But I must say, I absolutely love the live video/version for Chemical Beats on the 93-03 Singles DVD! 8)
Yeah that was my favorite live bit from that DVD...but I've only seen them once two years ago and I was amazed and overwhelmed with everything. More so that there was a HUGE amount of people there at the time as well. My favorite moment though was the live version of Bloc rocking beats and playing The Golden Path after freaking me out to EBW7. I just wish I took it in more than I did. It had been a really long day so thats why I'm itching for them to be here again.

i have to say '99 surrender tour with sasha was pretty amazing. opening and closing for them. he blast up underworld born slippy right after they finish. perfect chemical comedown after the insanity of the reel.
althought brixton ptb tour was pretty amazing too. never saw the cwu tour. only one i havent seen
singles promo tour in the uk was good too. first outing of ebw 7. fuckin scary!
and burgess singing to life is sweet which is one of my fav all time chems tunes.
i was goin throught the big shoe box that holds all my tickets and passes etc from every gig ive ever been too....theres some crazy shit in there....so many chems tickets! including 2 unused wolverhampton civic hall tix for the pre ptb tour. numbers 0001 and 0002 for stabding.....just couldn't make it over....was gutted!
