I saw them in Marin (north of San Francisco) at an auditorium where everyone was seated, and I got seats rather close to the band. Takk had just come out, and it was an UNFORGETTABLE performance.

The second time I saw them was at the Bill Graham civic auditorium here in San Francisco, which is a really awesome venue but I would have liked to sit down. I was in the "general admission" area and I longed for a seat. Nonetheless, I loved the performance, possibly even more than the first, even though the first was a more memorable experience, if that makes sense...

Ha, I guess it does make sense a lot. Firsts in life always leave a big impact on you, I reckon. And so do first concerts, I believe. I still have the fondest memories of my first chemical brothers gig in Berlin back in 2005. And btw, Takk (the second album I own) is friggin awesome.

I've found the Dresden show on youshnoob http://www.youtube.c...?v=MCzDUS_YOoM. Hope you enjoy like I did.
They were offering a 360° camera access. too.

I've been sort of a fan of their sound since I came across Vanilla Sky in 2004 when I did a civil alternative for military service (we had to choose between them in Germany at that time). I worked with handicapped people in a special school and one day a teacher gave me the dvd and asked what I thought about the movie. Anyways, right at the end of it the nothing song was on and my interest was kindled. I'm maybe not a die-hard fan, only own two albums, but do love their unique sound.
When I got to see Heima several weeks ago (this film is a pure goose bumps generator), my whole body forced me to catch any opportunity to experience this myself.
Seeing Heima, it almost moved me to tears because of the sheer beauty of the nature, sound and the people coming together. So I guess, you had a fun time in Iceland!

Thanks! It could have been my second show, too. But about 5 years ago, I decided to not go for whatever stupid reason. Now I regret it sincerely.
Did you see them in San Fran? I imagine this might be a gorgeous backdrop to see them open air..

Yea I loved the way they used that song in Vanilla Sky. What a great scene!

Maybe this has been mentioned already and it belongs to the past but Sigur Ros entertains an official ftp where you can download all sorts of stuff. For instance, live recordings, some b-sides, and videos.

EDIT

FTP: ftp://ftp.sigur-ros.co.uk/

Wow. Jesus. Someone recorded that first set of Sigur Ros's that I saw back in 2006. ...I kinda cried like a little bitch listening to that.

Awesome! It's like a flashback, isn't it?

I'm pretty much in love with their recent songs. Especially Isjaki is a catching tune. Brennisteinn, Kveikur and Hrafntinna are equally mindblowing. This slightly different direction they're going for at the moment is well appreciated.

I saw them live in Blackpool (of all places) in 2008 and its still one of the best gigs I've been to. Jonsi was an awesome frontman, especially given his partial blindness.

The support act was a fellow Icelandic band (I think) called For A Minor Reflection, a kind of epic, rockier Sigur Rós. They were invited later in the Sigur set to play some big drums on the first track on Inni Mir Singur which was a nice touch.

I'm sorry, Pumisher, there ain't no Düsseldorf concert on their ftp. The most recent performance dates back to March 7th 2013.

You can also go to their ftp without using any host program, just via your browser. No password query.

Well, then something is wrong. I just click on that link I posted back then and their ftp opens right away. I don't get any password requests.
Maybe you should try another browser.
