Napolean Dynamite was dull. Throughout. And no, the dance didn't redeem the movie for me.

I can see where people thought it was funny, in a 3-cheers-for-the-underdog kind of way. There were a couple of funny moments.

I saw it in the midst of everyone thinking this movie was the best thing since sliced bread and needless to say, it did not live up to all the hype.

Plus I think with me, maybe there was a bit of a generation gap that might have prevented me from finding the film fantastic or whatever. I know I'm showing my age here, but movies that revolve around those formative school days (unless it's say, Battle Royale or something X-D ) are something I don't have interest in anymore than my parents had interest in seeing The Breakfast Club when I was a teen.

I genuinely loved Napoleon Dynamite, but I never saw it until a couple months or so ago, so there was no hype left. Absolutely nothing happens in the movie, yet it's completely priceless. I can't even begin to put my finger on what it is about that movie, but it was great.

And then I got wrangled into performing the dance sequence on stage in front of a few hundred people at a school social. It turned out surprisingly well: I became a minor celebrity, to be honest. X-D

Steamboy sucked as well. Boring story, boring characters, just boring... And this is all what Otomo could come up with in ten years???

Ghost in the Shell 2 on the other hand was visually stunning.
