For EBW 5 we should ask about the length of the track. I would like to ask if anyone has EBW 5 for a while now to tell us the right tracktime so we can check it.
Thanks alot guys and girls. And Tom & Ed, please release EBW 5 as a b-side!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????????

This bootlegging for profit is totally out of line, its dishonesty really pisses me off. I don't know how this can be stopped, unless there's a decrease in demand.

...I think record companies should do much more to protect their product and there by themselves and their costumers being all of us. The Chems/Virgin already started it by copie controlling the cd promo's and give the record promo's real sleeves, not just a simple bleack or white sleeve. Hopefully we will all be helped by official releases of promo's in the future.
Well, one thing the labels could do is watermark the sleeves of these promos, or in vinyl's case, watermark the label that's on the disc... somehow. A diehard collector would know what to look for in order to spot an original or a fake. I don't know how costly this would be, but it works for currency and it might work in this medium too - then again, maybe doing something like this is not at all possible or even worth it considering promos are not for sale or distribution, that's why they are promotional items...even though there are record stores that buy and sell them regularly. Nevermind e-bay - there's always going to be a risk when you buy from a private party. Buyer beware no matter what you're bidding on.

But if collecting was easy it wasn't that much fun.
If I could go into one shop and buy there everything that I want in my collection.
Than I wouldn't have so much fun tracking all those beautiful real CD's and vinyls.
But I know what you're all talking about.
Probably I bought the bootleg versions of EBW 5 and EBW 6.
And yes I hated that when I found this out. (Curses in Dutch!!!)
Somebody mentioned EIL.com
That site sucks big time.

He bought the Dust-up-beats (first version) (EIL told him) for a lot of hard earned cash.
But when he got the record it wasn't the first one but the later released version.
Bootleggers and sites like EIL are people who would kill there grandmother for some money.
I say kill the bastards or at least cut there ears off so that they can't hear music ever again.
I rest my case!!!

On a side note, I added to my Chem collection today. (Now I feel like I can take part somewhat in the collection discussion...) Picked up Spiritualized "I Think I'm In Love" single with the Chemical extras: $6.95. Picked up Charlatans v. Chemicals: $6.95. $2.95 for my Loops of Fury replacement. Among other goodies... Cd's of course, and these items were used but in perfect condition. 2 of these have been hard for me to find in my area and ordering them would've been quite a task, especially the Spiritualized one. Not to mention the prices I would've paid. Even with my discount at work, I wouldn't have gotten away with only paying $2.95 for Loops of Fury. I couldn't believe how cheap this stuff was. Yay me, miracles do happen! :D

Yes it is! :) I've been wanting the Spiritualized single for ages but since it's out of print it's been hard to find - no luck in the past. It was an essential that I felt I needed. I seriously did a happy dance right there in the store when I found it!
Actually I thought I died and went to heaven when I was in Amoeba music. I've been to the other 2 Amoeba music stores up in Northern California a few years ago and I thought "why can't we have this store in southern California?" Then the new one opened in Los Angeles a while ago and it's taken me ages to finally convince my husband I wouldn't clear out the bank account if I could please, pretty please, just *check* out Amoeba. Plus he couldn't understand why me, a Tower Records employee, would want to spend her day off in a record store. All of you guys would love that place, there is sooooooooo much stuff in there - I was in there 2 hours (could've stayed longer but thought better of it) and I didn't even rummage through the half of it.
So yeah, come out for a visit, party at my place: with moderate traffic, Amoeba is about an hour and 15 minutes from where I am and well worth the trip.
