KRAFTWERK
Tour De France Soundtracks
http://www.astralwerks.com/kraftwerk/
It was quite a week for Kraftwerk, who performed live
on TV for the first time ever at the MTV Europe Music
Awards on November 6th. It was even more of a thrill
for those of us with premium cable who tuned in to
MTV2 to watch it live. Having been introduced by the
diva-from-down-under Kylie Minogue, Kraftwerk appeared
behind their new digital workstations bathed in a rich
green light and launched into a special live version
of "Aero Dynamik" from the new 'Tour De France
Soundtracks' album. What the MTV generation made of
these electronic legends standing almost motionless
behind their consoles in luminous body suits is
anybody's guess. Long time fans however were probably
just like us...staring in awe and delighted to see
them on the same bill as Justin Timberlake and Missy
Elliott. As Kylie pointed out in her introduction,
practically everyone working in dance music owes
Kraftwerk a debt of some kind. Next up will be the
2004 world tour which kicks off in Scandanavia in
February. All dates so far are published at the
official site http://www.kraftwerk.com and we'll be
announcing North American dates as soon as they are
confirmed.
