But we already have a New Members thread up at the very top of the forum... I think it's a good place for people to introduce themselves and should stay as is. Why have another sticky thread or announcement thread for the exact same thing?
Maybe surface2air can merge the "i'm new" threads into the New Members one - just a thought to keep this place tidy.

IMO the "new members read here first" thread should be like a leaflet giving information how to "behave" in here and how not, a little help for newbies. the more people posting in there the less the original useful info gets attention.
however, i can understand you. too many stickies wouldn't do this forum good.
