Officially my least favorite Chems video! Hooray!
And where's Tom and Ed in this video? Blegh, this is horrible.

Thank god for you tube! Yahoo streaming sucks ass. Its an ok vid however its nothing new. I think someone could have thought of a better concept. Oh well I just don't give a fuck anyway 'cos all this track makes me want to do is dance!!

So yea, I had to give myself a few hours to think about this video. As weird as it seems, I don't think that is something to be upset about. I don't mind the goblin dude, it's just that it's kind of boring. Like, the CG on him (in some parts) is just mehhhhh and all he really does is dance around. It's not like anything really happens in it.
It's probably my least favorite chemical video so far, but it's STILL a chemical video! The song makes up for it.

Fully weird and fully entertaining. I would have to say I'm disappointed though. I thought the video for Midnight Madness would be more serious. But that doesn't mean I didn't like the video, I loved it, it's one of my new favorites, but I just don't think it really fits the song at all. I would also have to say that I like the edit version a lot, since I think EBW10 gets a bit repetitive.
I loved the Justice reference. Justice and The Chems are my favorite electronic groups. I just can't wait for one to remix the other. I've always dreamt of a Chems-Justice collab.
So now EBW5 and EBW10 are the EBWs that were also released as singles. I wonder if EBW 15 will be a single :P.

I've only watched this video a couple of times on that yahoo streaming video link, and the quality of the stream leaves a lot to be desired.
That said (and get ready to call the press) but... I can't say I'm in love with this video. I mean, it's not bad don't get me wrong. The video isn't poorly directed. There's clever dance moves and the choreography is good and I liked the bit with the mirror ball. There's a somewhat sinister and creepy feel to the main goblin character and a WTF? factor on film isn't always a bad thing. But maybe that's what's bugging me. I absolutely love the song which has some darkness to it but it does not take on this unhallowed form as the video suggests. Midnight Madness has a lot jubliant qualities and it doesn't seem like the video is a good match to the song. For now, I don't rate this video highly. I won't go so far as to say this is my least favorite Chems video - but I don't rank this as highly as some of my favorites.
I'm sorry... erm... OK, that's enough moaning from me.

for those that dont like the video it gets gradually better over time for me so maybe the same will be true for you. i think the song has 2 parts one is the bass/beat and the other is the squealing wildness and i think that later part fits the hypergoblin (good name init) shame that the chems arnt in it but by the looks of it more than 1 person plays our dancing friend so maybe they are behind the mask somewhere i doubt it though they'd never live it down would they!

Where to start! (brace yourself!)
I think the video was rushed to be made, and could of had more input. Nothing is wrong what the song of course, but I personally think the director NEVER saw a chemical brothers video in his entire life. Even T and E could of did a better job. Everybody, look at the other chem videos. These videos were striking, visually stunning,sonic-pounding soundscapes, and innovative. The music videos of the chems made your mind go into worlds where sight and sound were in unison. This video doesn't prove this.
All that the director did was steal a knockoff of Salacious Crumb from Jabba the Hutt and put him in tights!besides, I think the video could be made much more better by us!
@ The Director
Never do chem videos again! And by the way, if you use 'Midnight Madness' again, use this one:

While I'm a lot less critical of the video than you are, I agree that the song DOES deserve better than this.
Who's got an HD camera and a good idea for a music video? Speak now or forever hold your piece. Unless you come up with something awesome later on, in which case we'd be happy to take your piece. :)

A few days after I downloaded the song, I started work on a music video for it that I have put on hold. It's basically a bunch of kendo tournament footage that I was in. There's some cool slow motion effects and stuff that I did to match up to the song. But I kinda dropped the project. Maybe with enough interest, I will finish it.

Kendo, eh? Cool! You should go for it, prochem! You're the one that did that Chems tribute that was posted a while back, yeah? That was good, and it was such a nice gesture. Go. For. It. !!
So... back to the video at hand. Do you think there's some tongue-in-cheek hidden meaning with the 'hypergoblin' (courtesy of Seb) coming out of a bin marked "commercial waste?" hmmm...
Is anyone dorky enough to try telephoning the number that's on the bin? Don't look at me, I'm not doing it!

Commercial waste could be referring to commercial electronic acts that are out there right now. The Chems are not part of those acts cause the bros have complete artistic freedom in their music, plus they always follow their own creative direction to be successful and never gotten any pressure from their label. There's no heavy advertising or commercial gimmicks, just good word of mouth and excellent albums. Maybe this video is saying that the Chems are 'taking out the trash' in the electronic genre!
At least the director put some meaning in this video I guess.

Bosco has an image of the dumpster in his signature - a good reference point!
In the states, the 207 area code is for the state of Maine. Highly doubtful the bin/dumpster is from Maine! I'm half inclined to phone the number anyway, just so I can play Midnight Madness to the person on the other line.
Any Londoners want to take a crack at the number, hehe?

That goblin looks like the lovechild of Gollum and Noel Fielding.
