So...we know they will break up at some point. All good things must come to an end......right? I mean, I am not looking forward to that day or anything, I am just guessing it will happen.

So what will be the next step for the brothers?

I bet Tom will end up doing a good bit of solo stuff as a producer. Probably do some work for some films? Scores and or soundtracks.

Ed will most likely move to Nebraska and open up a small country store where he will sell fresh tomatoes and hot boiled peanuts.

what do you gusy think will happen?

X-D Ed selling boiled peanuts. In Nebraska of all places!!

I would be very sad if the Chems decided to call it a day, but they would have their reasons and I'd support them - I will always be grateful for the tunes. I just want to enjoy what they're willing to give now and when that day comes I'll have the music and good memories.

I think they are both very gifted and I really believe music is their calling in life. I would hope neither of them giving up on it totally, even if one day they decide to not be the Chemical Brothers anymore. I don't know what they'd do - solo projects, producing, scores, maybe scouting new talent - who knows, maybe they'll slip into a quiet life of comfortable obscurity. It's not really something I've given a lot of thought about. Life after the Chems is an even greater mystery than what their next album will sound like. Nothing to do but wait and see.

They will eventually trasnmogrify into beings of pure energy, and leave human space for realms unknown riding on waves of tachyons aimed straight for the galactic core.

I think this talk is unnecessary negativity! What evidence have we got to say this is going to happen?

apart from that we are busy and happy working on chemical 6

The main thing is they are happy and working on new material. Hopefully they will continue doing this together.

it's not gonna happen, they'r brothers, and they'r gonna die brothers.

zeppelin never broke up, maiden did, but came back, same with strato, and a lot of my other music gods, there's no fuckin general rule they WILL go separate ways, they'r fuckin soulmates. period.

Hmm. I didn't take what Thesouphead said to be negative at all and I don't think he meant it to be. It's just another one of those hypotheticals, something to ponder. I'm not necessarily one for crystal ball threads but this is just another conversation, just something to pass the time til all this "life after Chems talk" dissipates... which will happen as soon as we hear the next EBW.

I did like stash's response, I can dig that.

Some predictions:

Ed will finnally lay down the vocals for a track they have been working on titled "Here Come the drums".

Tom, on his own, will colaborate with Britney Spears and produce another acid stomper like Slow remix.

Ed will be furious over the remix and leave the band to work on his solo project with steve dub jones.

Tom, now angry, calls the forumers for audition to fill the spot of Ed.

Ofcourse every Tom Dick And Hary on the forum think that they got what it takes to fill the shoes of Ed. But Tom picks Chemical Reaction because of his creativity and well....awesomeness.

Old fans will be dissapointed over the pick but soon after they release of "Sinister beats" they will be converted.

The first single of Sinister beats will be titled "Ed is gay" will be the biggest chemical brothers hit ever!!! For the video both Tom and CR deciede that Jeanie would be the perfect model. Jeanie gets her first big break and instantaneously becomes the biggest model.

So as u can see the future is looking bright for some of us and the rest...well u guys are gay.
