Thanks rijh for posting the link to that messageboard - it's nice to get opinions on some of the other artists who were at the WMC, as well as the Chems. (though I wish there was a some more about the Chems, like how their set was etc. but I'm biased like that.) ;) There are some good recommendations on there as well and seems to be a mix of people from electronic music newbies to folks who've been around in the scene for a while.

Well, I don't know what I'm going to do yet. I don't want this to be another "curiosity killed the cat" kinda thing like what happened when I downloaded Come With Us before it came out.
I don't want to be a bad girl. I really don't. :(

WARNING:
Excerpts from the Torrent FAQ site:
[LEGAL-1] Q: Are bit torrents legal?
Bit Torrents themselves are entirely legal. However, the use of the Bit Torrent Network to distribute copyrighted material without the express consent of the owner is illegal. Therefore, ripping a DVD and distributing it as a bit torrent is illegal. Recording a TV show and distributing it is probably illegal as well. Distributing a company's software without their consent is illegal. There are also certain types of media which are not legal to possesses, most notably pornography involving minors.
[LEGAL-2] Q: Will I get in trouble if I download torrents of copyrighted files?
Most likely you will not get in trouble. However, if you do not want to take a risk, you probably shouldn't download torrents of any copyrighted material. Realize that when you download a torrent, you are associating your IP address with that file, and this could be used against you.
[LEGAL-3] Q: Why are so many torrent sites being shut down?
Torrent sites are being shut down because they violate copyright law. The people that own the copyrights to a particular work contact the owners of the site, or the company that hosts the site and threaten to take legal action against the site. Sometimes the site's host will disable the site, and sometimes the site's webmaster will take the site down themselves to avoid legal trouble.
[LEGAL-4] Q: Who is shutting down all the torrent sites?
Generally torrent sites are shut down by organizations like the MPAA, or the RIAA, which don't want their copyrighted works to used without some money going to them.
[LEGAL-5] Q: What files/sites are being targeted?
Sites that host trackers are the primary targets for legal action. If a tracker host is taken down, then all torrents that use that site to connect to other users will no longer be able to function.
[LEGAL-6] Q: How can I protect myself?
Don't download copyrighted material that you have not paid for. Don't post copyrighted material on your website. Wear body armor. Hide under your bed.

Your IP address is linked with the file that you download?
Why is that? But nevermind this isn't important.
I say don't download.

Did anybody listen yet?
I got curious after reading this: (thanx chemicalreaction)
The Chemical Brothers began with hard, straightforward beats before inevitably taking a left turn. Having set the mood, they changed it, segueing into their raucous single "It Began in Africa," with polyrhythmic beats echoing all around the amphitheater and a thunderous voice speaking the title. This was perhaps the day's best musical moment, a disorienting blast of rhythmic chaos that made it easy, for a few minutes, to achieve that state that everyone was aiming for: oblivion.
Chems spinning hard straightforward beats.
Hell that should have been great.
But is it the EBW IBIA they played or the normal version?

no. its the demo version i've always been going on about. they've been playing that version in their dj sets for years. it just a mash-up of tunes put together. i think the main beat is sampled from 'House of Gypsies - Sume Sigh Say'
love this version. thats why i was asking for it on the bonus disc on the singles collection.

I'll have a listen so that I can hear this special IBIA version you've been talking about sneaker.
I also found some revieuws of the complete festival at:
http://www.tranceadd...emical+brothers
They weren't all that positive about the Chemical brothers set.
But ok it is on a trance forum and we are more into chemical beats and less into the Trance thing.

I had a listen to the chemical brothers show @ Ultra show.
The chems made some minor misstakes while mixing the tracks.
But hey I still like it.
They mix a lot of Chemical brothers tunes together with some hard sweeping acid bleeps.
They also used that special verion of It Began in Africa.
(The version where Sneaker was talking about earlier).
What a good version of IBIA that is.
They should release it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does anybody have the tracklisting of this show??????

yeah the track sneaks been talking about has always been a big moment in their dj sets for me. the way the beats work, it's something does something quite trippy to me....very trancendental....
Having had that loop completely trip me out on the dancefloor on many a night out dancing to the chems and being a sad git who obsesses about beats I spent ages trying find out what it is....
I'm pretty sure the original is from Beat The Clock by Sparks.....which turned up on an Italo disco/Electro mix by I.F (space invaders are smoking grass matey)......
the track iself also has a lot in common with another chems fave Trisco 'muzak'.....think that falling down the stairs riff was half inched from here too.....
another clue was harry choo choo using the same break on his "suck my clock" release on bambossa....suck my clock/beat the clock....you see....
I've just read that back...I'm such a sad man........hahahaha - anyway, top tune and the chems afrika version always gets me grinning like a loon...
