I have grown to really love Shake Break Bounce. I love all those gear turning, twisty, bouncy sounds - like I said before it sounds like Tom and Ed were set loose in a wind-up toy factory!
The first listen, I think the "ah" vocal threw me off. I may get a talking to if I say it, but the "ah" reminds me of the "chick, chick, chik-aahhhh" in that Yello song that was a hit for about 20 minutes back in the 80's when Ferris Bueller's Day off was in theaters. Then again, I liked the Yello song, so... there, I said it.
It's not that I didn't like the song at first, but the initial listen sounded like such a diversion from what the Brothers usually do. I should've known better - to expect the unexpected.
I think Shake Break Bounce is probably the most experimental track the brothers have done, and I think this is a good thing. The flamenco style guitar, the odd collection of sounds, the breaks within the song structure. It's quike quirky, in a good way. And I like that.
