Hey Rukes, no one was calling you a liar, it's just that, in my experience, insomniac fliers have a way of lying through their teeth... I seem to remember a Nocturnal Wonderland out in indio that promised free, on-site camping that was completely untrue, so I'm not impressed with them. Maybe they're better now, but I gotta see it to believe it.

Yeah, it was in 2000.
I've been doing this for a long, long time, like 16 years... that's why I don't always believe fliers... I've read "100% Bust Free Virgin Location", "All DJs Are Confirmed" or "Professional Security" waaaaay too many times ;)

Yeah Rukes, that Nocturnal Wonderland was in 2000. I'm pretty sure it was one of the 1st Nocturnal Massives? It wasn't as well coordinated as it could have been, but in all fairness it was a new thing, new location and the sleepy retirement town of Indio is pretty stringent when it comes to stuff like that. So the shortcomings back then are forgivable, absolutely.
I remember one of the things that was touted as being a + for the Nocturnal 2000 was the free camping. I had some friends who we met up with and they had all their camping gear ready to go. It turns out that the massive promotors didn't get clearance from Indio (or Indio changed their mind at the last minute which is more likely the case) and all the campers were turned away by cops - no camping allowed. It left a lot of people stranded, a lot of people who drove for hours out to the venue. I felt so bad for them - but I didn't let it wreck my good time. ;)
I am positive Nocturnal 2007 is going to be off the hook. I mean, we've got the Chems! Downtown, smack dab in the city is going to be an awesome setting. I can't ask for anything more!
I know I'm prying here, but do you know if Nocturnal will be held in the downtown area like where the Bonaventure hotel is?

All I know is what's on the flyer and posted on Insomniacs website for now...
Downtown LA has lots of places including the Giant Village area (near the Bonaventure where Giant Village will be in a few weeks for Armin Only), but so is the LA Coliseum and the area around it where EDC is being held tomorrow.

I freaked out when I saw this thread and have had little sugar plum fairies of happiness dancing in my head since I heard the news, haha. Best news I've heard in months. Months, I say!!
stash and I went on a pub crawl last night and the topic of "CHEMS IN LA!!!!!" came up quite a few times.
Thank you to all who are excited for us and the U.S. about the news of the Chemical Brothers coming to Los Angeles! It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

Ticket sales for Nocturnal have been postponed...more headlining:
"The 13th Annual Nocturnal Festival is going down Saturday September 29th in Downtown L.A. and we've got a fresh group of headliners to announce! In
addition to the Chemical Brothers (live) and Paul van Dyk, we're happy to reveal that the legendary Carl Cox has been confirmed for his first Nocturnal appearance!
Boosting the lineup even further, electro masters Benny Benassi and D. Ramirez are coming through to make sure everyone gets a healthy dose of analog basslines. Insomniac mainstay Christopher Lawrence will be in attendance, while Tru Playaz own DJ Hype holds down the Drum & Bass stage alongside Good Looking don LTJ Bukem. There's many more names to be announced, so keep an eye on INSOMNIACEVENTS.COM for the latest updates!
The first batch of tickets won't be released on July 17th as originally scheduled, but don't worry - these same early bird tickets will be available shortly. We'll make sure to announce the official on sale date as soon as we finalize the details, so check the website often to make sure you're in the know!"

I read somewhere that Nocturnal was gonna take place at the Colliseum (like EDC did)...All I'm hoping is that it will be an outdoor event...Last Monster Massive was indoors at the LA Sports Arena, and it was not a pleasant experience. Besides almost having a heat stroke, that place was so packed that we looked like Sardines in a can. Anyway, unfortunetely Daft Punk is playing at LA Sports Arena this weekend, yet I'm still excited to go see them. Anyone else here going?

Ooooh, I hope it's outdoors. I really, really do. I've only ever seen a Chems live gig outside and it's really hard for me to imagine a set indoors without the building being freshly earthquake retro-fitted.
The Colliseum is an immense place, though. I haven't been inside there since 1987 (to see U2). It's fuckin' enormous. Maybe the city will light up the Olympic torch for Tom and Ed, hehehe!

This is where I read that it is gonna take place at the Colliseum:

Whirly...check out the pictures that Rukes took from EDC, especially the ones from the main stage (inside the Colliseum)...The other stages were located around and outside the Colliseum...The Bros have to bring their biggest screens for some stadium rockin' beats and visuals haha:

Also, check out how the stages were set up for EDC, maybe is a preview of how Nocturnal will be since both are thrown by Insomniac:
