I liked a few of the tracks in that mix but I kind lost interest after the first hour. I haven't listened to house in a long time so its my damn fault for not keeping up with the times.

always thought star guitar is quiet unmixable but it fits perfect between infusion and popofs SAN rmx2...also the timing (end SG/begin sunglasses) is perfect. the end is quiet melancholic and very enjoyable too...

popof and SMD track works also for me.

funny thing: i also use popofs sunglasses remix 2 in the back to back set with tekknik (but as opener).

overall i rate this mixtape: 5/5! and it found the way on my iphone.

at least: what is the preskool mix maker? dj software?

I don't use DJ software really, meaning I don't mix live, so to speak. I use a -really- old version of MixMeister (MixMeister 3, released back in 2000, I think) where basically I can arrange tracks, beat match, EQ and do some very minor cut&paste sampling.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I might use to do a nice laptop sesh at a party? I'd love to be able to start practicing putting this stuff together on the fly so that I can create moments with people dancing.

Proper mix you've done buddy. I like the choice of tracks. Some new to me! Infusion - Love and Imitation is simple but great.

Thanks Csar! I picked up Infusion's album Six Feet above Yesterday on Saturday, and was absolutely enamored with Love and Imitation. Never much for new wave, but there was something deep in that track that couldn't be ignored, and after I got stoned with one of my friends and took a drive down the California coastline, it hit me--that track is f*cking phenomenal. ;-)

Deadmau5's Brazil (1st mix) is far and away better than the second mix, and I was sad that it didn't end up on Random Album Title, a.k.a. the worst name for an album, ever.

In the latter half of that mix--which is really great listening by the way, congrats Pooter!--there sounds something very similar to Moby's "God Moving Over the Face of the Waters" slowed down. Is that in there too?

That's James Lavelle doing his Unklesounds thing--it's Moby mixed in with In a State by UNKLE. There are some really great UNKLE remixes out there. I was going to throw in one of Blur, but I thought that one worked a little better.
