He don't need no music sheets,
but with a snip-snip-snippy-snip
gave his mop a chop,
Old man hairstyles are a flop.

I'm down here in bloomington... about an hour and a half south of naperville. not too bad of a drive up into the city either... just hit 55 and cruise.

Prochem, hopefully you can make it out cause it would be a shame for any die-hards not to be able to get to a nearby show. Good luck with work!

Though I don't have tickets yet (but watching ticketmaster anxiously),

Who would be up for meeting before the show?

I am planning on leaving Bloomington/Normal between 2 and 3... which will put me in the city around 5 (if I can make it before traffic). I know there is a Starbucks across the street from the Riv, but I am not sure about any nearby bars/pubs. Any suggestions?

I would meet up with you all, but you all seem to be older than 20, wouldn't want some 16-year-old hanging around (and bars and stuff prohibit ma hangin abiliteez)

Heck ya man! Meetup for sure!

The Uptown Lounge seems to be the place to be for some pre-game.

Although, I think I would like to find a resturant or pizza joint where I can find something to eat also...

Age aint no thang, brother. Since you probably cant get into the bars, will just catch up with you at the door or something.

P.S. I hope for your sake that this is NOT a 18+ event. I know the Riviera has been known to do that from time to time.

the last show I caught at the Riv was the Scissor Sisters... and I don't think it was 18+... but the electronic show before that was 18+. Hit or miss I guess.

As the Bos said, age ain't no thing.

Also, there's no Cubs game on that Monday, so there should be some free parking on some of the streets, hopefully.

If for some reason it is an 18+ event, I'll come up with an elaborate plan of getting away with it.... I'll just ask that girl how she got into that Akon concert.

I've been talking it over with my boss. He says I can take the time off now instead of christmas. So I really don' know. I worked during the christmas holidays last year and it wasn't too bad, but I was going to do stuff with family this time. This is a really difficult situation I am in.

Well my family is in Munich, Germany so I haven't seen them for a while. But I haven't seen the chems in a while either. :|

Aw man, prochem. That is a really tough decision. I know exactly where you're coming from.

That said, you really need to put a lot of thought into this. Family is so important at holiday time... so is doing something for yourself, rewarding yourself for your hard work with a fun trip to see the Chems. I wish you luck.
