As I posted this on the prodigy forums I thought I'd post it here too. Oh what the heck! I'm just trying to share this website with the world :D Hope you guys don't mind me informing you about it.... You can post your tunes and artwork for the world to judge. "Why are you posting here?" I hear you cry! Well I know some people on here and the prodigy forum enjoy writing music or designing artwork. So i'm providing this service for you to share your talent. The best thing is, it's FREE!

Girlelectric, you have a cool style with your ads. The artwork sort of reminds me of the Hed Kandi album art.

I haven't explored the rest of your site, only looked at the pics. Just wondering, are you studying advertising in college?

Thanx for checking it out whirly!

I really like the illustrator Jason Brookes who did the Hed Kandi artwork and the Kirin ichiban brief was to target the 20-30smething city drinking crowd for which I thought the hed kandi style would be perfect.

I keep forgetting to add more of my stuff (coz I'm just crap like that!) so its only one of my projects and a few photos i took last year. I'm studying Multimedia Technology & Design at Uni so advertising is kind of a small aspect of the course. The course incorporates Web Design, Animation, Graphics, Marketing, Music, Film, Communication, Programming, 3D, eCommerce etc so its a basic all round media course athough they want you to lean more over to the programming side which I really hate! I came onto the course thinking that was what I wanted to do but since I've studied it, I really would like to get into advertising for the music industry or a graphic designer for the music industry. I just need a break!

That's really cool, Girlelectric! Sounds like you got the target market down!

It sounds like you've got a full plate at University, a broad spectrum of studies even. I think if you stick with it you'll find your niche and narrow things down a bit in terms of focusing on what it is you're really good at and enjoy.

My brother's worked in the advertising industry since the late 80's. (he's really, really awesome I am so proud of him!) That was his major in college. It was a grueling and frustrating 4 years, and at first, the studies were all encompassing so once he went through the motions the first couple of years, he was able to narrow it down and focus on the creative aspects. Now that he's well into the field, his position is very broad in the sense he oversees all aspects from creative wise to production wise on the agency's accounts. Lots of long hours and plenty of travelling but he makes a killer living. Eventually he wants to start his own company but that takes time. I believe one day he'll do it!

Him getting a break was something he had to work so incredibly hard to get into - worked as a peon the first couple of years out of college for a smaller agency and built up his portfolio. Once he was able to do that, other agencies started contacting him asking him to work for them. It's such a word-of -mouth industry, and it's tough dog eat dog industry, but once you're in you can prove yourself and go from there. It's just a matter of getting in and working to build up that portfolio. You seem like yuo have lots of gusto and would be good at something like advertising!

(sorry, I went off babbling again!)

hey Ig, just had a look at your stuff and its pretty cool, You are much better at getting your work on there than I am! I'm so lazy!

I'm so useless at vector art, Illustrator baffles me -I just created them using lots of layers in photoshop. I really need to start learning it properly coz thats how those artists create those type of images -i was just cheating!

I've started studying photography this year, here are some photos I've taken.

Not the best quality since I don't own a DSLR yet, these were just taken with a SLR and I don't have a negative scanner, the scans are all from the actual prints.
