I actually ate dinner in the 'spoons tonight. Seems like a nice place. Unbelievably easy to find and super close to Turnmills. It's right at the corner of Farringdon Road and the street one block north of Clerkenwell Road.

I went to Clerkenwell hoping to eat at The Eagle b/c I'd heard good things about inexpensive Thai food, but it's closed until the New Year. So, a dejected me started walking back to the Tube (grumbling at not having eaten in South Kensington) when all of a sudden I see a sign advertising curry and a beer for 3.99. Of course, it turns out to be the 'spoons, which is a thoroughly agreeable location for pregaming. Decent curry, decent beer selection, excellent pricing.

One thing though, they did have a sign at the door advertising that NYE is 5.

I think it was from 8 PM that they're charging. So, yeah, anyone showing up before that SHOULD be free.

Hello peeps. Just introducing myself before this Saturday. Me is LusciousLucy, me is a HUGE Chems fan having seen them ever since December 20th 1995 when they played as the Chems for the first time ever (I believe) supporting the Prodge at Brixton. (Even saw them in Sydney In Jan this year 8) ) This will be my third Turnmills New year and 4th night with the Chems. God I love that place. Best place in the world (except Sydney) for a New Years bash speshly when the Chems are in the house. :D

Me and my man Des are planning on arriving to meet all you lovely Chems forum types at Wetherspoons from 6-7ish. We wont be difficult to miss, he will have a mohican that will more than likely be red and blue and I will have similar hair stylee too. :D

Cant wait to meet you all and hope you are all ready for one hell of a bloody good night out - stupid question/statement really?!

Bye for now.

Lucy xxx

If you need a back up plan then there is the Hogshead which is on the street on the left on the way up to Fabric (turn left out of tube but DONT go down Turnmills road - its the Fabric road you want) Hogshead is free to go in, bloody busy, cheap booze, bloody enormous and definitley open - we were in there 2 years ago before a Fabric New Year. They got pool tables too. ;-)

And finally, me and me man are planning on heading to Turnmills for about 9ish. I always like to get there around then on New Years as it allows you to get a good feel for the place, check out the new decor, nick a bit of the decor off the entrance staircase (a flower or balloon...?!) get your coat in before the staff get moody, find a good spot, find the cool spots, have a dance in the gym before it gets too fecking hot, chat to peeps before it gets too busy, have a good rest before the night turns into stupidity...! :D and NOT fall over and feck me knee up - but thats another tale - I blame Seb Fontaine and the Prodigy for that. ;-)

Anyhoo, its going to be a bliner, its Turnmills, its the Chems, its New Year, its going to be fecking awesome!!!! AND my chum Scooby's last New year in this country so lets all give him a bloody good send off.

LusciousLucy, welcome to the board.

I wish I were going to Turnmills to meet everyone and by the way you write it seems like you'd be a cool person to hang with! And I'm sure everyone will be game to give your friend Scooby a nice send off. ;)

This is going to be one crazy night. I'm so fucking excited for you all!!
