Radiohead - Sit Down. Stand Up
One of their best tunes, it just builds and builds, bells, piano, detuned strings and an evil synth bass. A detached but menacing vocal from Thom Yorke channels Big Brother or the Maoist Chinese government or Satan's kingdom of hell or the Bush administration. And it all breaks loose with a massive minor chord piano riff, staccato drum machines and laser beams.

Primal Scream - All Fall Down
Stunningly, beautiful song. Hard to believe that Gillespie and the boys used to make such pretty sissy rock before discovering ecstasy and meeting Andy Weatherall. . . .
Primal Scream - MBV Arkestra (If They Move Kill 'Em)
Which eventually led to this jawdropping cacophony of sound.

I hate postwhoring in this thread, but while studying I tend to throw on tunes I don't usually listen to, and just really got into one I've never given a real chance before:
Primal Scream - Screamadelica
A real bridge between the hands-in-the-air-holding-a-spliff tunes of Screamadelica the album and the later dub of Vanishing Point. Dubtastic with an awesome groove, horns, diva vocals, and at over ten minutes long, it's the perfect soundtrack for a quick session on a riverbank on a lazy, summer day.
