Sweet. 11.45 wonder what the magical tune will be to countdown in the new year??? Place your bets!
Come out from the cold and into the setting sun. It's where it all began for me (not in Afrika), like it was out of control. Then after that life was sweet. So dream on into the pioneer skies of the fourteenth century and rise from the sunshine underground.

I would just die if they played Midnight Madness.

would be fitting obviously..Or just that loud extended intro screech of HBHG would be enough for the crowd to go a bit crazy. Anything would be really, what a way to start the new year!

Midnight Madness would be sweet, but that would be kind of predictable, no?

One year they played Burst Generator not once, but twice on NYE...

I can't wait to hear what tricks our boys have up their sleeves. Maybe something brand spankin'? Or perhaps a tried and true classic. I am sure whatever they decide will be amazing because they feed off the awesomeness of a crowd!

The DJ set last night at Bondi was friggin awesome. They played Swoon at midnight, what a perfect end of 2012, beginning of 2013, especially relevant for Glenda and myself. I don't have all the details of the set list, I was swept away with music. Big crowd pleasers were Don't Think, Saturate, Hey Boy Hey Girl, I can't think of the rest. Beyond my expectations, I had no idea a DJ set could be so great.

And I just found out about this http://www.futureent...ane-coles-scuba a 3 hour DJ set on Friday. Just got 2 tickets ... I need some major rejuvenation before then.

Man, I feel so lucky. I can't believe I am getting to see another DJ set. Never even heard of this venue before but it only takes 2100 people over 3 levels, so we are talking a small crowd for a 3 hour Chems DJ set. This is gonna be friggin awesome. Gonna take all of my energy though, doors open 10pm, 5 people before them, they'll probably be doing 3-6am or something. Help me lord!

So I was thinking of sending Eddy a forum PM to thank him for such a great night the other night, he did something very special for my wife Glenda, but I see he has been harassed with pages of posts from someone who really needs to get a life. So I don't expect he would be reading any shit on there. If you happen to read this post Eddy, a huge thank you to you and Tom for starting this year off as the best ever.

Oh, go ahead and message him! Those strange comments were over a year ago and they were taken care of by Whirly, I'm sure he'll see it if you read it.

What an incredible start to the new year, Krisp! I am so glad you had a great time and that you get to see another set so soon! That chemical afterglow must be on hyper mode!!

If you want to give Ed a special thanks through his profile in addition to your shout out here, I don't see the harm. We all know you aren't some crazy fly-by-night stalker, lol! Go for it!

I went to Home (nightclub) a few years back now Krisp now before I returned back to Melbourne. From memory it seems bigger than you think and they were like 3-4 different rooms and levels so maybe the chems might be on earlier than you think hopefully. I'd need some "bad chemicals" to stay awake til 3. Oh yeah they're were TV screens under the watefall urinals so you wouldnt miss a thing ha.

<div><br></div><div>Our friend Kwiddle enjoyed the set too and quote went "only for the chems" end quote as the crowds at new years festivals can be quite interesting....</div>

I hadn't been out on NYE for a long time, which is pretty sad on reflection. Bondi Beach was a challenge though, as a venue it sucked big time. A big open area off the beach and they have partitions everywhere with this tiny area in front of the stage. So everyone going to the stage area were funneled in through these walkways that just caused havoc.

We bought VIP tickets and planned on chillin for a while, having a few drinks, before moving towards the front for the Chems, but we soon saw that wasn't gonna happen, ditched the whole hang back idea and went straight to the front to get a spot. Fuck me, it was tough keeping our spots. By the time KnifeParty came on the place was packed in so tight, and everyone wanted to push to the front. We were crushed for a couple of hours. And of course most of them thought the old fuckers'll be easy to push out of the way. But the misses and I held solid. It was hard to keep cool but I wasn't letting anyone spoil my night. It was worth it, front row for the Brothers! We were exhausted before they started, but still danced like crazy for the whole set.

Came away deafened, blinded by the strobes right in our faces, bruised from the fuckwits trying to push us out, totally exhausted, and feeling fucking great!! The afterglow is still going 2 days later. And their set is still going through my head. the C the H the E the M the I the C the A the L the Brothers.

Yeah, I read those comments and am ashamed of the hate from those dickhead Aussies. They're just a bunch of fucking idiots expecting the set to start as hard and as loud as KnifeParty ended. They obviously have no taste to appreciate the musical journey the Brothers took us on. The crowd I was in was loving it.

Oh, those Facebook comments sure do rain on the new year parade. Tough crowd, maybe? It is a shame to see anyone was disappointed but not everyone is going to be pleased 100% of the time. There is still lots of love to go around...

Glad you had a good time Krisper. Although I'm not big on the concept of New Years Eve, I've learned over the years on this forum, there is something magical about seeing the Chemical Brothers on this particular day.

I never heard of Knife Party until now, and now that I looked them up on YouTube, all I can do is laugh. I can imagine this was similar to the experience we had at Coachella 2009 with Crookers playing before The Chemical Brothers DJ set. Although we didn't have to suffer through Dubstep like you, we had to listen to some of the most obnoxiously loud and annoying house music I've ever experienced.
