The next two workdays can't pass fast enough. Especially since I found out yesterday that I won't be getting an annual bonus since our budget tanked after legislative changes in 2010 restricting the primary source of pharmacy profit. I am now on "don't give a fuck" mode until I return next week. (And I might only be in Sioux Lookout for 2 days before going back to Winnipeg. I'm starting to get vertigo.)

Funny you say that because we had a change in our company budget as well, and instead of putting our bonuses on our checks, we were given gift cards from various department stores instead!

What other acts are everyone planning on seeing, besides the Chems? (Or for those not going, who would you have liked to see?) Lot of great DJs that I'm excited for but I can't say I know all that many of the bands. Excited for Crystal Castles and DFA1979 but def need some recommendations.
Appaz Robyn + Chems are going to be playing conflicting times from what I've been hearing. That's too bad, as I like Robyn.

Heya Darkstar, I just typed up a list of bands I'm planning on checking out on Friday and Saturday (replied to your Facecrack status.) Tame Impala are playing and I think they would def be worth checking out, Flogging molly might be cool (but I would imagine it would draw the drunken frat boy poser Irish wannabe crowd). But for the most part Saturday has more bands I would like to see. Would love to stay the whole day on Sunday but will likely play it by ear - Jim has work and Connor has school bright and early Monday morning.
We decided to get a room at a cheap motel out in Banning on Thursday night as getting up at the crack of dawn Friday and rushing to the desert doesn't seem very appealing. Banning puts us a half hour from Palm Springs (where our hotel for Fri and Sat is) instead of 2+ hrs we'd have to drive from home otherwise. And, our hotel in Palm Springs is super close to the airport. Whirlygirl airport shuttle at your service! :D

Excellent. The Hill family hospitality is second to none! Really excited to be seeing you guys again. I've wanted to make it down to visit for quite some time but other stuff just kept coming up or I decided to travel to places I'd never been before. But Chems at Coachella is ALWAYS tempting. Still can't believe I'm seeing them for a second time in a three-week span. I genuinely believed that when I came to Coachella 2005 that it might be the only time I would ever see them. Now this is my fifth time, which is nothing compared to what some people have seen them but still it's been great to see them evolve. I really think the current live set is better than when I saw them in 2005. I'm expecting this to be an encore-less performance but if they played out those extra songs and ended in The Reel, I might explode.

Wow! I really did not expect them to play the Main Stage. TBH, I was hoping they would be in the Sahara due to the new lighting setup in there and I like the enclosed environment, but this is going to be a huge show on the big stage!
Haven't looked at the Saturday/Sunday set times yet but Friday works out pretty good for the acts I want to see. Only one that I won't be able to see is Boyz Noize, obviously, but looks good for the rest. Can catch !!!, Skrillex, A-Trak, Afrojack, Morillo, Cut Copy, Crystal Castles, most of Sasha (or the first bit of Robyn or KOL) and then close the night with the Chems.

First 2 times I saw the Chems on the main stage. There are benefits to either venue. The tent offers an intimacy but the main stage at Coachella is so much larger than life. It's amazing! I'm so thrilled to be able to see them on the main stage again! Plus there's more room to breathe and spread out and move. The ground rumbles underfoot and the heavens will be pulled from the sky. You'll see!

Saturday is looking good for Laidback Luke, The Kills, Empire of the Sun and Steve Angello. Missing out on Arcade Fire (again).
Sunday has some major conflicts though. Sven Vath or DFA1979, Trentemoller or Duck Sauce or Duran Duran, Kanye or Axwell. Green Velvet, Leftfield and Chromeo looks like it's a go, but missing Joy Orbison for sure.
All in all, works out pretty decent for my interests but some tough choices on Sunday.
