...so can we some how delete all these posts that irritants like fabriclive or maybe relocate them to some small part of the board where they'll be unseen by all of us who could care less?

btw do we still have moderators?

Heya- I am still moderating... It's just that you're all such good boys and girls, I hardly have to dole out any spankings. ;)

I agree the fabriclive posts are a bit annoying, but just left them since every now and again, these posts get a response from some people here. I'm not able to merge threads and I can't push them to the bottom of the page, so the only option is to delete them. I can do this as they come in, or I can leave the threads up for a couple of days and if there's no replies I can delete. I'm open to suggestions- just let me know. :)

Will log in later on today when I'm on an actual computer and do a little board clean up...

I think they annoy you Biff cos they don't apply to you but the UK members might find it useful.

agree with both ^ although maybe chronic masturbators and faux rolex enthusiasts found last forum's spam useful and informative.

How about a "POST EVENTS HERE' and just delete those who deviate?

I was in love with the spam on the last forum. I feel a void, really, since its disappearance.

But despite this, Biff, I feel your suggestion is entirely appropriate.

OK - I will make a Fabriclive thread but I won't sticky it. If the person handling the marketing aspect of Fabric makes any new threads, I will copy/paste the link and move it to the appropriate thread before deleting any info. I hope this helps!

Thanks for your input, guys!

Iggy, I only have one thing to say to you:

What's the difference between peanut butter and jam?

I can't peanut butter my cock down your throat.

hahaha, appropriate response to a remark like that.

Anyway, one more suggestion might be if we do make it a Sticky in all caps stating "POST EVENTS HERE (any posted outside will be deleted)" or something like that, since there seems to be new ones each day, of course I don't want to make it into a pain in the arse job for mods, but maybe the empty threat will get some of them to pay some attention. Or we could just going to the sites and telling them to stop posting or make sure they put it in the appropriate spot.

Heehee... All in love and immaturity, of course.

I think a POST EVENTS HERE sticky would work.

Good idea, but I don't think these people will do it. Afterall, if i'm hosting an event, I would make sure to advertise it in a way that would make the most people see it.

There are 2 ways for me to handle stickies on this forum. I can 'sticky to front' which means the sticky appears on the main forum page no matter what such as the Google Earth, BS thread and Contact thread. Or I can sticky threads so they appear on the top of the page in the subforums (speaking of which I need to do some clean up in that regard)

That said, I don't think a Post Events Here sticky would work... Plus I think a POST EVENTS HERE type sticky might confuse people passing by throug the forum into thinking the Chems are going to be doing a gig when they really aren't.

I really don't think we should have a sticky for for anything that is not Chemically related or not related to us forumites day-to-day goings on directly.

Fabric is legendary, they continue to support the Chems so I don't mind having a special thread for Fabric events.

I'm not so sure about those Shoreditch threads that keep popping up. Delete on the spot? Or leave them for a day or 2 then delete them if nobody posts in the threads?

I don't want to go about deleting threads and information if some of you find it useful when making weekend plans. But I also don't like clutter (be it 'sticky' clutter or otherwise either. So, no worries about moderating being a pain in the ass for me - it's what I was designated to do. I am here each day and also have the ability to be a mobile mod if need be. Whatever makes you guys happy and keeps you coming back and keeping the forum active. :)

I think on the main page would work best with a stick, but they do seem to go to the WATN section. So we could put one there. I don't know!

This may require a little trial and error process. So we could make a topic like "POST NON-CHEMICAL CLUB/FABRIC/SHOREDITCHTWAT EVENTS HERE" and if that doesn't work we could delete it and try something else. But I'm sure some would deviate. All I know is like the spam on last forum, this one seems to be gaining momentum. I just think if it's a sticky at the top of the page they'll more likely see it that somewhere midway down.

It's like this forum is becoming a college bulletin board or something!

I just ignore at these 'posted' events! Nuff said!
