Just picked up a copy of dj mag with the results of the top 100 djs pole.

Chems came 80th, which isnt bad considering as a pair they have only played a handfull of dj dates this year. Well done lads.

The winner was Armin Van Buren with Tiesto coming second. My fave Zabiela came 17th with Fatboy coming 66th. The likes of Justin Robertson and Plump Djs sadly didnt even enter the top 100. Most of the votes apprentally came from the USA.

More details at.....

1. James Zabiela

2. Justin Robertson

3. The Chemical Brothers

4. Nic Fanciulli

5. Chris Vaux & Simon Blann

Was going to include Dave Robertson, Rob Mooney and Plump Djs but they didnt quite make it into my top 5.

This magazine polls always has a trance DJ win. Fair enough, these guys will never make an entire studio album that's any good, so I'd rather the CHems stay top of The Dance Artist's pack, Best Live Act, Grammy Award winning...you get my drift. I like DJ Magazine and the Poll does interest me so I will pop out and pick up my copy in a mo!

Yeah trance does allways seem to win. In the UK I wouldn't say trance is very big anymore, Im guessing its still huge in the rest of Europe, but still in my opnion its shite! Saying that I do respect some of the trance djs such as PVD that do seem to push dj technology in terms of what they use and how they dj.

Yeah, I do like PVD as a DJ, his latest album offers nothing amazing though. Yeah must be huge in Europe, and thats a wide area isn't so yeah this is where the votes must be coming from I guess. Sasha is still one of my faves too, I still love Expander and don't view that a Trance, it's just a prog dance record.

Apprentally he didnt write much of the album himself, most of it was done my Charlie May who had created the basic framework, which Sasha them finnished.

WTF ? These poll results are retarded. Only crappy trance DJs in the top 10 (except from Carl Cox), Justice #56, they can barely sync two CDs on a CDJ1000, Erol Alkan #99, he should be in the top 10, Daft Punk in the top, they didn't DJ since 2002 !

Where did Daft Punk come in at? Yes 2002 was the last time, this would b silly if they are high ranked!?

Maybe if non-retarded people like yourself had of voted Ben_J it would of made a difference! Not sure if you know your dance music very well mate, but withing the top its not all trance, theres John Digweed(prog house), Sasha(prog house), Carl Cox(techno) and David Guetta(house).

I think its fair enough for live acts such as Daft and The Chems to be included in the pole, especially with the boundaries of live and dj performance coming closer together.

But who cares if some djs are not as technically gifted as others, its not all about how tight someone is at mixing, what about showmanship skills, production and reading the crowd?
