Underworld have completed their fifth studio album, Oblivion with Bells, expected to be released in October 2007. The first single from the new album, "Crocodile", will be released on September 5, 2007. A full world tour has been announced to support the new studio album. Currently, tour dates in the United States, Europe, and Japan are scheduled for this fall, with more shows expected in the future.

Somehow I followed the Do It Again tradition and listened the Huntemann remix first, wich by the way rocks ass.

Yeah, this is definitely a huge year for electronic music. UNKLE also put out an album that... isn't bad... but nothing groundbreaking.
Now we just need The Prodigy and Fatboy to chime in. Well, actually, maybe Norman just needs to stick with remixing music. His last studio album wasn't great.

Crocodile is getting a lot of airplay already, ignoring the Torrents of course, a copy was given to Sasha and Tong and others. Its pretty damn good. Cant wait to grab the album. My bamdmate is a huge fan and is on Dirty everyday watching the album come together. Underworld as you might know are enormously interactive with their fans and post content every day.
I hope Fatboy Slim never produces another record. He was relevant in Big Beat era, but his studio tricks revolve around the same naff sample editing styles and its boring. Slash dot dash was rubbish. As for Prodigy... i kind of like a few tracks off that last album but Liam absolutely murdered the dynamics and sound quality. Its painful to attempt to listen to it, its actually a very very good lesson in how NOT to producer and master an album. Literally, its used as a reference in music production topics. Some new stuff has leaked from Liam but im not much into it. Never was the biggest fan.
Underworld all the way. Hoping they make it to Australia to tour the new album and def hoping they do it for Big Day Out :)

Not that I'm disagreeing with you but why is the production of the last Prodigy album deemed crap? Is it a case of total over production? It certainly doesn't seem to have as much bottom as Fat of the Land and nowhere near the rough atmosphere of jilted Generation.
I do agree with Tom Chemical - Liam Howlett is a genius, to come up with all that material completely on your own is amazing. But I can't help but think the Prodigy were and are well and truly a 90's phenomena. I loved them 10 or 15 years ago (actually especially 15 years ago) but the Prodigy are one of those acts you do find yourself outgrowing.
as for Fatboy - Not the biggest fan but he has done some good tunes and great remixes. I think it would be a less colourful world if he stopped contributing to it.
Anyway back on topic. Loving crocodiles - Underworld have such a unique sound and a unique way of working dance music into something. You can see why they're the darlings of both Jean Michel Jarre and Kraftwerk - both of whom love them.

Preordered the album already. Get a bonus DVD and a t-shirt with my order, too, mua ha.
Yeah, Underworld is one of the greatest bands ever. They have daily interaction with fans via their website, and they toured the States even though it cost them more money than they made. On top of that, they gave everyone at their Denver show a free copy of their album just because the venue was moved. Great guys! Great music!

Yah read about there release in a billboard magazine a few months back about it soon coming out. I'm excited (points to nose).
Speaking of albums of year I'm amazed no one has said anything about the gusgus album. I'm not sure what the exact release date was on it but that's been a top one this year for me. That and the cinematic orchestra album (and of course Chems)
