Yup, some really interesting names on there. I could well imagine some DM tracks with a Chemical Brothers facelifting. Especially stuff taken from Ultra. Hm.
love is all.

Oh I've just noticed they're not all new remixes, the Jacques Lu Cont one is great, of course.

DM have the most amazing remixology EVER (silver medal for Moby). It works like some kind of electronica encyclopedia. But there are a lot of old remixes, what´s the point? They should have released only the third CD with the new and exclusive remixes. It sounds to me like a bit of a cheat...Posted Image

Hmm. On the first remix cd (84-04) there where also only eight or nine real new remixes, so whats the deal? The ones who collected all their singles probably only need the new ones but for the rest it is a good collection. I see your point but don't see the "cheat".

Remix albums are mostly a fan/collector oriented item. I already own half of those remixes, and I think a lot of fans too, so I just think this is a bit abusive. And the same for the first compilation.

don't think so. one might not be into DM too much (like me) but like electronic stuff (like me) and also the remixers (blablabla) and will be happy to download buy it.
love is all.

I'm stoked about this. Thanks for the scoop, Pumisher...somehow I missed this news everywhere else.

Disc three looks exciting, especially with the Vince Clarke and Alan Wilder remixes. I hate seeing Eric Prydz attached, but I'll see how his take sounds before completely dismissing it.

I'm not sure why some of you see the older mixes as a detractor. Most of the remixes pre-04 are good ones that were passed up on the last remix compilation. All of the mixes post-04 are appearing on a compilation for the first time, with the exception of a few tracks from 2006. The remix comp from '06 wasn't widely available for purchase, and they snatched two of the best tracks. These first two disc are awesome and a perfect companion to the releases from '94. Perfect for the fan or DM electronic reinterpretations...
Gonna work it out...

I feel the same way about the Older already Created Remixes. It will be nice to have some, or most of all the remixes altogether in one giant bundle, and i can't wait for Disc 3's new 2011 collections, if they are new!

Possiby the best work I've heard from Eric Prydz, which isn't a very high bar to meet. He still manages to make a boring and repetitive mix, but this time he's lowered the cheese factor enough to mask his signature sound.

In other words, I won't expend the energy to skip the track when listening to the album, which is much better than expected.

Prydz has done some great stuff but I think after Call on Me his name was tarnished.

For instance, I love the build up in this and when the bassline hits...yeah! A common workout tune of mine

That was nice! Too bad they can't put that in the depeche mode remix, seeing that it isn't originally by Depeche Mode!

The example you provided definitely doesn't have that "Prydz" signature sound I'm used to. I'll admit, the first three tracks I heard by him were Call On Me and then his remixes of Howard Jones and Pink Floyd, both of which I didn't care for. Obviosuly I haven't listened to his entire catalog, but I really haven't liked most of what I've heard since my poor first impression. I do like his remix of Alter Ego - Rocker and remain open minded when something is new to me. Any others I might be missing out on?

Check out the stuff he releases under his Pryda guise. Classics like 'Together', 'Aftermath', 'Pjanoo', 'Muranyi', 'Europa'.
