THE Chemical Brothers will be playing at London’s Olympia, their biggest ever London headline show, on Saturday, August 30, 2008.
This will be the first time any band has played this historic venue in 10 years and demonstrates, yet again, the incredible popularity of the band, both commercially and critically.
The Chemical Brothers have also been nominated for two Grammy Awards.
Tom and Ed are up for Best Dance Recording for the single Do It Again and for Best Electronic Album/Dance Album for We Are The Night.
The band already have a collection of Grammy Awards, having won in 1998 Best Rock Instrumental for Block Rockin’ Beats and in 2005, winning Best Dance Recording for Galvanize and Best Electronic/Dance Album for Push The Button.
2007 has also been a spectacular year for Tom and Ed. It has seen them play an incredible show at Trafalgar Square, headline Glastonbury and Fuji Rock, as well as selling-out three nights at Brixton Academy and playing the Roundhouse in London and playing as part of the BBC’s Electric Proms.
Their latest album We Are The Night became the fifth successive No 1 album in the UK. Tickets for Olympia will go on sale at 9am on Tuesday, December 18, and will be priced £30.
